Rosier post game comments

Kayaa made plays for more of the game and rarely looked as bad a Rosier, but he didn't make plays at the end of games therefore he is not "winner guy".

Kaaya had to make plays against good teams.

When have you ever seen a "winner" guy have to make plays at the end against atrocious competition? And then get praised for it?

You are literally the only person here who wants to be right more than they want to win.

I am right.

Doesn't matter if we win or not. That won't change.

I'd like to the team to play better. That matters more to winning a championship than just "winning" games because the piper will have to be paid at some point.

Did they win? Is Rosier undefeated?

They wouldn't have needed the most luck in history or a late flag if their quarterback wasn't terrible.

I'm not kidding, and I'm not just saying this out of frustration but why don't you go watch another team? Maybe one with a better QB.

This team has flaws, and they will most likely come back to haunt us, but what's the point it arguing so hard about it? Why is it so important that people take time out from their enjoyment to acknowledge that the team has flaws? Can't you rain on somebody else's parade and let us enjoy this as long as it lasts? Because seriously, me acknowledging that Rosier is flawed isn't going to make him any better at all.

You know what's coming, right?

Fanboy comment.

There's only one college football team that will ever matter to me.

Just because I don't whine and cry about opposing opinions doesn't mean I need to find another team.

The is the truth whether we're 5-3 or 8-0.

This says a lot about you.

First, truth is too painful for you so you'd rather ignore it.

Also, you allow your deluded parade to be ruined by the opinion of somebody on a message board.

What is wrong with you?

Neither is ignoring it until it causes us a game wherein you and others will proceed to disown him.

Maybe instead of positing 10,000 times per hour you need to go back and read the 10,000 posts on this board that talk about how Rosier is limited, can't use the middle of the field, makes bad decisions, is a one-read QB, and has prevented MR from opening up the playbook.

The idea that Rosier hasn't been criticized is laughable.

The idea that he needs to be criticized for the same old stuff even more (while leading an 8-0 team) is also laughable.

I never said he hasn't been criticized.

What I've said is that the people doing the criticizing are:

1) attacked as being trolls
2) told they should be banned
3) told to find another team

Facts.

Nobody's telling "people" that, they're telling you that.

Now if you'll excuse me, my mom is going to call me to lunch soon and I'd like to get in a little time staring at the Malik Rosier poster on my bedroom wall before she does.

The truth is probably somewhere in between. The criticism of Rosier's passing is entirely warranted. He has been really bad in that regard in recent weeks and he needs to do a better job protecting the ball and making better throws. OTOH, his ability to make plays with his feet helps hide some of our OL deficiencies and was absolutely a factor in the VT game. His ability to pick up yards on the ground allowed us to sustain drives. If we just tried to line it up and run the ball we likely would have gotten stuffed more often than not and forced into 3rd and long situations. For now I'm just enjoying the undefeated season but it is perfectly reasonable to be concerned about Rosier's passing game moving forward.

I don't think anyone is disagreeing with this assessment, most likely because it presents things in a BALANCED way. Imagine that.

What Rosier did with his legs last night was the difference in the game.

In 2016 VT sacked us 8 times. Kayaa had 9 carries for -55 yards (sacks). 43 QBR.

In 2017 VT sacked us 2 times. Rosier had 13 carries for 85 yards and 1 TD. 77 QBR.

He also had a 7-0 team (Kaaya's was 4-2), a Saturday night home game (Kaaya had a Thursday night road game) and just a better supporting cast all around.

His running is important but so is pretty much everything else.

I disagree on the supporting cast comment if your assertion is that Rosier has the better between the two.

Vs. squad that played VT last year:

Starting, and rotating, a true TrF @ RG

No NFL fullback, which has by CMR's own admission limited our running game and overall balance.

Went from Njoku/Herndon to Herndon/Irvin/Patchan

RB depth is down Walton, Yearby, Edwards and had to move Dallas from WR

Replacing Stacey Coley and Malcom Lewis with some solid prospects in Thomas and Harley will be an upgrade eventually, but a hobbled Richards hurts a lot here

The teams is playing better overall-- both sides-- and being in year 2 under Richt cannot be understated.

In terms of one game, being the "better" QB doesn't mean you're the one that wins. I am not a Kaaya hater, I think he doesn't deserve the beatings he takes on here. I think BK could run through his progressions a lot better than Malik, but schematically, Richt has done some nice things to cover that up using Malik's running ability.

In instances where read one and 2 aren't there, the progression stops and it becomes a running play. Against VT, Richt weaponized this very nicely beyond just working with a limitation. We saw a lot of typical Bud Foster and we read the DE/DT differently than in the past and gouged them for several big gains. You can acknowledge that as an edge to Malik without automatically being a "fanboy"
