Rosier nominated for Maxwell Award

Before the season, during the extensive QB competition we were forced to endure, I did my best to withhold judgement and put my faith in the coaching staff to make the best decision to pick the best guy and get him prepared for the season. But I never thought it would be Rosier. I'm proud of our coaches for the work they have done, and I'm proud of my quarterback for rising to the occasion.

big ups to the coaching staff for Malik's development and keeping the competition 100%

Alot of people built a false narrative about the guy before a down was played. I'm shocked at how often he makes the right decision. People can say what they want but FSU still has their Defense and am highly impressed with the fact that when we are not playing well he doesn't make bad decisions and that first half v FSU was as bad as we played in a long while. And two come back with a 2nd half of almost 300 yards was impressive. And we all know about that last drive.

He doesn't always make the right decisions but he's even keeled as it gets, works the game, and hasn't been a turnover machine.

Oh he doesn't? Would you mind naming the college QB's who always do?

I didn't say always, I said often. That was the problem Richt had with him to begin with.

The expectations of him sure have evolved from most of us just wanting him to be a game manager to most of us now thinking that he can WIN games for us. Look, we'd all love more complete games out of the offense as a whole but it sure as **** is nice to know that we also have a kid taking snaps that isn't afraid of the big moments.

Heck, the most impressive thing is that he has won the biggest games he has been in and the team has NOT played complete games. He's doing it with stars out or dropping balls, star RB down for the count, patched together Oline, and unknowns making the big plays. All tat and it is mostly his passing getting it done, not his feet. We are nowhere near our ceiling. Win and advance.

Agreed. His "streakiness" really hasn't even been the issue to the offense not always hitting all cylinders throughout the entire game. That alone is reassuring because I have faith that Richards isn't going to drop 26 passes in one outing again, etc. As you mentioned too about his passing getting it done, I REALLY love that the kid is utilizing his mobility when necessary but never relying on it. There's no way the Vag Tech or Notre Dame DC's can possibly think they're going to ever make him give up early on a play and take off needlessly- which is one of the greatest qualities (patience) you can have in a mobile QB.

His streakiness has been a problem but not last game. After the 1st quarter vs duke, the 1st half vs fsu, 1st half vs gt are all games he showed that streaky play. He is completing 55% of his passes in acc play and its mainly from those stretches of bad play.

If he can play like he did last week consistently and the defense start stopping the run better then this team could possibly win out.

skill players need to catch the ball more consistently as well. Richt's play-calls of late show he's gonna let Malik throw the ball when it counts most, and dudes need to catch the football. I like where this team is at this point tin the season. Little by little we're getting there and I expect them to play their best when it counts.

No, and I don't care about QBs that don't play for the []_[].

Instead of being shocked at his decision-making, which I'm not, I expect more from his play and think he could be better. I'm tickled about the record and all, but there's a higher level of consistency and game management he could and needs to reach as a QB.

Every drive like our last; that should be the offense's credo.
