Rosier is a symptom, Richt is the problem

Jesus! Everyone bashing Richt! He's the best HC we have had in awhile! The flip flop on CIS is real. Bunch of emotional dudes on here.

First I neve flip flopped. Hated Richt the second he was hired, and when he hired a joke staff I knew it was a true disaster.

Second, being the best among horrible coaches doesnt make him good.

Anyone who argues with the basic premise of this thread is a ******* ******.

The man is in his THIRD full year, with probation in the rear view mirror, and a talented team. He had ALL OFFSEASON to prepare for this game and we exhibited all the signs of a badly coached team.

And before the ***-kissing morons who don't know a thing about football start with the "Rosier sucks" stuff.....guess what, that's the QB Richt decided to bet on going into his THIRD full year. His other 3 hand picked QB recruits couldn't beat him out and he made ZERO effort to go out and get a grad transfer.

Oh...and how in the **** does Richt not have a plan B at punter after the reports about our punter have been shaky all summer. You're telling me there isn't a scholarship soccer player on campus that can punt a football farther than that kid.

Richt is a JAC. Period. There is a reason Georgia fans weren't upset when he was let go.

I have one point of contention with the OP. I would argue that Richt himself is also a symptom. The ULTIMATE disease here is an incompetent administration that has no ******* clue how to run a football program and destroyed this program with 3 straight horrible head coaching hires before Richt was brought on board. Of course Richt is better than the other 3 clowns that preceded him....but what kind of statement is that?

The scary answer is the other guys are just that much worse...
Eh, maybe. Maybe not.

Richt doesn't typically go with the quarterback that has the highest ceiling...he goes with the QB that has the highest floor. It's why he started a no-talent senior, Joe Tereshinski, over freshman Matthew Stafford. Until he's out of contention, he'll go with the QB that he thinks will make the fewest mistakes.

Don't blame me, I wanted Butch.

Me too - but got negged to **** and back.

This is on Richt.

If you're in command - you do not reinforce a bad attack.

Playing Rosier is reinforcing a bad attack. It's not going to get better.

And GET an Offensive Coordinator!

How's that philosophy working out?

It's plain and simple if we don't out athlete the other team we struggle. Richt has done a horrid job of putting players in position to excel.

This. Our predictability and lack of creativity continues to kill us. The Offensive scheme is broken. Linear running and passing. Everything is a bomb. No running game. It’s big play or bust with his Offense.

Not sure what's going on @ QB,...but if the plan was to groom his son into the OC position, the nepotism attempt is done and it's time for plan B.

Understood but I never said they had a lower ceiling just that they aren’t nearly as good right now.

4 verticals baby. It's revolutionary stuff.

**** it’s going to be scarce around here with all the people jumping off the boat so quickly. Bench Rosier and don’t even put him in during scrub time - if we ever see that this season. Hire an OC that’s innovative and can stretch the field with good route trees instead of just chunking it down field in hopes J.T. will make yet another miraculous grab. And Richt needs to tell Manny no more f’ing blitzes when it’s so obvious even to someone like me just starting to understand the X’s and O’s of the game. We need about 4 more Willis’ on the DL and some of the frosh OL to play. Yes I know under development but can they play any worse than that crap we saw tonight. Man Donaldson needs to move back inside, the experiment of him as a RT is over. Just seems like every decision made up to the game was a complete and utter mistake. Oh, and find a student who can kick it more than 10yds.

And neg this all you want, but I'm thinking Orgeron might have more upside as a coach than Richt. Why? Because he is willing to adapt and make drastic changes to improve his team. Orgeron saw a team that finished 9-4, realized he didn't have a good QB on the roster so he went out and got the best transfer qb he could find. Then he scraps the offensive system that LSU has had since the 1970s and gets an OC who implements a new spread offense. Then he manages to keep the best DC in college football (who could have gone anywhere).

Richt in year 3 has Rosier as his only viable QB option. He has a weak OL that can't run block, but sticks with the RPO. He has a terrible DC. Richt is doing what Al Golden did and thinks "staying the course" will solve all his problems. Oh, and hiring his son who has one job- to recruit QBs and apparently is only good at racking up frequent flyer miles.

You got it wrong. It's if we don't have better talent we struggle if the talent is equal we get blown out.

The truth is that our head coach gets to live out his fantasy of being a OC and QB coach and it’s obvious he sucks at both those things. He also sucks at developing QB’s.
