Rooting Guide For Today

easily the biggest game for us is Clem v SC. Cle has to win, if they don't there is a distinct possibility a 1 lose ACC team does not get it. However if Clem wins and say Bama loses. Clem is going to number 1. Therefore if we beat the #1 team and become ACC champs I say Miami is guaranteed in. Even if Clem stays at #2 . Same scenario. But if Clem loses and drops to 6 and Miami is 7 the winner of that game isnt guaranteed in. I think they should be, but it gives the committee wiggle room to do some mental gymnastics to not take the ACC champ. Go Clemson

Clemson losing today knocks them out, but an 11-1 Miami with an ACC Title is absolutely in the Top 4.

We need to beat Clemson and people need to think that's an impressive thing to have done. Beating them a week after USCe does it is a lot less impressive. At that point you've beaten a team that loses to bad teams as opposed to a team that slipped up once like most teams do.

Yes excatly. We all think an 11-1 ACC champ should be in, but the scenario with Clem losing tonight gives the committee some room to be stupid. That's it

I would bump up a Georgia Tech win. Two birds one stone and would eliminate UGA from any possibility of them being a second SEC Team with Bama.

Agree with a Clemson win being big. That'd give us two top five wins if we beat Clemson. Who else has that?

I'm saying the committee would not leave out an 11-1 Power 5 conference champion no matter what their resume looked like.

Auburn would have it if they beat Bama and Georgia the next two weeks (assuming that UGA doesn't slip to GT). Oklahoma beat #2 and #6 at points this year.

I think so. Hard to find a scenario where they'd be tossed now if they finished like that.

Whoever loses the Iron Bowl today is out, whoever loses the SEC Title Game after that is out, whoever loses the ACC Title game is out.

What does that leave you? Notre Dame?

It is that simple.

It's not though. There are most definitely scenarios where we win the ACC and don't get in. I know this is hard to process, but sometimes there are factors beyond winning your game. Once we lost to Pitt, the situation was no longer completely in our hands.

I think it’s pretty simple. The winner of next weeks ACC Championship game gets a playoff slot. Everything else is mental *********ion. I’ll be damned if I sit around and root for teams like FSU, Bammer, and ND to win games. I’d rather rake leaves.

Virginia Tech won last night which helps us, Mississippi State lost the Egg Bowl which hurt Alabama and helps us.

For today I think Miami wants:

Logical:

Clemson win
Notre Dame win
Alabama win
Texas A&M win

Helpful:

FSU win
Syracuse win
Duke win

Greedy:

Georgia Tech win
Michigan win
West Virginia win
Minnesota win

Im feeling GREEDY!!!!

I don't think we NEED Alabama to win today, if they lose I think they're out. Body of work is unimpressive after Mississippi State flamed out and LSU could finish with 4 losses.

Clemson winning today is the most important for sure and Notre Dame winning is 2nd most.

And yes it would be extremely helpful to have OSU lose to Michigan finally.

ESPN's not leaving out Bama.

Bama with a loss and not being SEC champs will not get in over a 1 loss ACC champ.

Not only that they wouldnt be sec champs, but not even winners of their own division...

No. Win the ACC, have only 1 loss, and we are in. 100% lead pipe lock.

If Miami wins the ACC we're in, but it can't hurt to have outside factors help pump up our resume and hurt others.

Exactly. These conference title games are in effect playoff games. Win and you're in.
