Prob not the best comparison to a Wr that won the Heisman. They both are skinny but I'm going to assume Smith has atleast one or two elite traits that Brinson doesn't.Neither did Devonta Smith.
Again, it's college, not the pros. Height and weight are much less important at most positions and it shouldn't stop a talented kid from succeeding. It means there is more to it from his side or the coaching side (or both).
I threw him in the Jeremiah Payton bucket...just another WR the fanbase get hyped up for based on recruiting rating and propaganda from the insiders, but just not delivering on the field during gameday because he's more than likely just not that good and is buried on the depth chart. We've had lots of these guys.Brinson seems to be on the Chaney path. Tons of hype coming out of HS, but hasn’t done anything at the next level. From the limited action he’s had he just seems to not be very fast or explosive. Maybe he’s still injured
What open field? It’s weird none of our guys look fast in the open field.
He flashed when he made a nice catch against a 6th grade team? Jesus you peopleHe flashed last season. Could be corching.
I was very deep into Saturday nights Halloween celebrations during that post actuallyUhhh Halloween is Monday.

Yeah bro he’s a 5-star bonafide stud, it’s all on the coaches bro. He’d have 75 catches for 1200 yds at UGA rn bro.Remember now this is CIS. so according to posters, despite having offers from powerhouse programs he was never really talented and his star ranking was a myth. He doesn't have the heart/will/attitude to become a star. It couldn't possibly be coaching. It's all on the players bro.
Bama’s top WR last season was a portal transfer from Ohio State.People are under this illusion that schools like Alabama or Georgia don't have busts. Not all of their highly ranked guys pan out either, they just have great depth and recruit over. That is the difference
He need to go to fsuThe one time we gave him the ball, it was on a reverse pass….like really?
He is on the fieldDefinitely is one of the reasons he isn't seeing the field. Ladson and Young have stepped up.
Yup.People are under this illusion that schools like Alabama or Georgia don't have busts. Not all of their highly ranked guys pan out either, they just have great depth and recruit over. That is the difference
I've been thinking the same thing. Why is that? Do we just not have legitimate burners at this pointIt’s weird none of our guys look fast in the open field.
Hes short, but not only is he short he's small, and not only is he small he's slow. The **** happened to this kid? He was a monster in high school with offers from literally everyone. Bama, Clemson, Georgia, USC, you name it. I thought he’d be a contributor at the minimum. Did everyone evaluate him incorrectly or is he just being criminally under coached?
I think it's the perfect comp. The comp was about weight, not skill. The poster said it's because he never gained any weight.Prob not the best comparison to a Wr that won the Heisman. They both are skinny but I'm going to assume Smith has atleast one or two elite traits that Brinson doesn't.
I guess I just wouldn't compare heights and weights. All that matters is skill which Smith clearly had more of. Same with freshman stats Smith would of started as a freshman here. It's like me saying N'kosi Perry came in at 6'3 176 and Lamar Jackson was 6'3 185 besides them both being skinny black Quartbacks from Florida they don't have much else in common.I think it's the perfect comp. The comp was about weight, not skill. The poster said it's because he never gained any weight.
Both guys skinny. Smith was 157 in high school. Brinson was listed 20 pounds heavier but looks skinny in games at UM. Both highly recruited although Smith was obviously higher….but both recruited by Bama and Miami. Smith contributed Season 1 at 160 pounds but not a ton, similar stats to Brinson, 8 for 160. Season 2 he made the jump to 700 yards, and was probably 160-165 at that time.
It's college. Small guys can produce.....skinny/light, short, etc. Deuce Vaugn is owning people at 5'6 maybe 170. Tutu Atwell had 1,272 yards at maybe 165 pounds. As long as you have talent, size for non-lineman shouldn’t be as much an issue bc you are going against lesser comp most games and can still show out. Size matters much more on the lines in college and at every position in the NFL where you play the best week in and week out.
