Rolling Stone Article on SEC and ESPN

Great article, and laughable that ESPN doesn't even try to at least "fake" being impartial... they're talking about 3 sec teams, as if it's a given that there will be 2..

not that i want FSU in there, but these guys have 3 1 loss SEC teams and a one loss oregon in the playoff before FSU..

Is that graphic real? If so, I don't even know what to say....

it's true. San Fran leads KC 3 games to 2

Big business interest are always protected by members of the organization for reasons of self preservation. People like the Krotch (koch) Bros have changed college curriculum from exploratory and challenging to a corporate monkey theology. Anybody that can see the ESPN slant lacks general comprehension capabilities.

Not watching ESPiN, more like MSNBC

lulz. an FSU team who hasn't lost yet

That can't be real...I mean Fvck FSU, but seriously that's a joke.

Yea, also why is Bama even in consideration for being above Auburn? That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Even when ESPN's analysts value "Good Losses" more than they do "Good Wins" which is made completely clear by Oregon being ranked below Alabama, Auburn STILL has a better loss than Bama. Auburn has beaten Kansas St and LSU and only a loss to Mississippi St, who's #1! What does Bama have? a win vs WVU who lost to Oklahoma who Kansas St beat, and a loss to Ole Miss, who just lost to LSU. No matter what way you look at it, Bama being ranked above Auburn, or even above Ole Miss, just doesn't make sense.
The only reason Bama is this high is because they have a "good loss" to Ole Miss, and the only reason Ole Miss is this high is because they beat Bama...It's an endless circle.
This is why the rankings should go something like:
(1) Miss St (2) FSU (3) Auburn (4) Oregon (5) Kansas St (6) Baylor (7) Ole Miss...
Basically "Good Losses" shouldn't count more for a team than any "good win".

i still think Miami, Va Tech, FSU, and Clemson should pack up and head to the Big 12. maybe Louisville. **** the ACC

Doesn't make much sense to me...but whatever, it's not going to happen anyway.

a conference like that would have all of them slurping as much as the SEC. better chance to get into the playoffs with 1 or 2 losses

The Big 12 was on the verge of breaking up a couple years ago. They lost a few key teams (Nebraska, Mizzou, TAMU) and added WVU in a move of desperation.

The ACC is in just as good a position as the Big 12 is, if not better. Might as well talk about the ACC going after Texas, Oklahoma, Baylor, and TCU, if you're going to discuss some sort of merger.

Either way, it's not going to happen for the foreseeable future. Perhaps if there's ever a move to make 4 Super-conferences, then something like that will happen. But for now, we're fine in the ACC. We have no one to blame for our crappy performance but ourselves.

Miami needs to just win and they can do whatever they want.

Not until we start getting fans in the stadium. Not sure if there is an attendance clause for ACC, but Temple was kicked out of Big Easters ago because of their attendance issues.

Miami unlike Temple is a powerful brand, I tend to think that Miami's brand pulls a helluva lot of weight.

Or consider the way ESPN covered a pair of wins against Tennessee earlier this season. The first, a 24-point margin of victory for the Big 12's Oklahoma, was characterized on Twitter as "Oklahoma holds on to beat Tennessee 34-10." [Emphasis added.] The second, a three-point win, 35-32, for the SEC's Georgia, was positioned, "Dawgs run away from Vols."

i'd rather have Miami in a football conference than a basketball conference

The Atlantic side of things is pretty good football wise. VT and UM have dropped the ball in the coastal. With FSU, Clemson, Miami, VT all playing at the levels they should be, and with Louisville, GT, Duke and BC providing a solid middle ground, the ACC would be a **** good football conference. Not to mention having ND around the periphery. Again, UM and VT just need to live up to our/their end of the bargain.
