I always wondered what it's like to be a fan like this. I've been a season ticket holder and have gone through all the down years of UM and never did I once think of not going to a game especially our biggest rival.

Are you a UM alumnus? I ask because I find somewhat less of that among the alumni who go to games. Personally, we get blown out and I'm still waiting until the alma mater finishes before I leave my seat. People ask me why and I just say, "because it's my alma mater that's playing." Meanwhile, I've had Dolphins season tickets, given them up, bought them again several times over the last 25 years. To @JOE'CANE's metaphor, I treat the Fins like a restaurant owned by strangers, but I treat UM like a restaurant owned by family (stingy family that doesn't hand out free food, but still family).

I think Clemson was the only time I left early.

I'm not questioning you're commitment. I'm just saying I don't know any fans like this. I've been a season ticket holder with a group of people for 40 years and not one of them has ever said "I'm not going to the game because we suck".
That’s called being a glutton for punishment.

More power to you for being able to stomach the product that’s being put out on the field, and have them take your hard earned money while they’re getting paid millions to trot that **** sandwich out here every Saturday.

I believe alot in strong family bonds but alot of clinicians say alot of the times the most toxic relationships are with family.

I use to think the same way about the Canes but the more I've learned about how the college fb sausage is made the more i realize its just a business. When you have 18 n 19 year olds making alot more via NIL than the ppl going to see them, it really brings home the point imo.

That was a difficult one to stomach. I walked out of that stadium after the alma mater alone with my hair on fire and ended up getting into it with a couple Clemson fans after one of them threw an empty beer can out of the window of his buddy's truck and onto my car at a red light on 27th avenue for no reason. I got out fighting mad, running my mouth, picked up the beer can, and tossed it back into his truck. Buddy rolled up the passenger side window on me, which just made me more upset so I spit on it (bad look, I know). No eye contact... dudes drunkenly drove off wanting none of what I had to offer. I got back in my car and drove home.

I blame Golden for all of it.

Flying in for the game but I ain’t telling you weird mutherfukers what Section. In the immortal words of Inday

No matter who you are, you are the common denominator in all of your failed/toxic relationships. So, too, with UM and UM football.

And of course college football is just business. Even secondary education is still mostly just business. But when you are part of any organization, even for a few short years, lasting bonds are built. My relationship with UM is more than just my relationship with UM football. So, for me, NIL wasn't some game changer in how I view college sports or my alma mater. But I can see how it would turn off a lot of people to college sports, in general.

This is absolutely one of the worst threads in CIS history.
Here we are in good old South Florida where people are more willing to pay more money for parking and for seats for an NFL franchise who hasn’t won anything in over 50 years. An NFL franchise who’s made more bad decisions drafted more horrible players and hired more horrible coaches than the canes ever have.
An NFL franchise where the players are more mercenary and selfish than your average college football player who mentally is still a child. But you guys wanna blame nil all of a sudden.

We have a head coach who by all media and fans of college football perspective made the most bonehead decision to decide to come home and try to resurrect the hometown team. He’s convincing players from the state and from this area to be loyal and to come build something great.

And just when our team absolutely needs us the most, right at the time when our most Hated rival is going to come try to stop any momentum and try to reinforce the narrative that we will never be back, some of you guys are actually thinking about selling your tickets.

Are you freaking kidding me?!!

China should just invade now. My god. I’m not the baddest mfer on the planet by any stretch if the imagination. But folding like this is just crazy and unconscionable to me.
The past 3 seasons I’ve missed games due to work. But I’d rather have my seat empty than having it bought by some other teams fans especially a **** nole.

If you are able to go to the FSU game and choose not to, you don't deserve to call yourself a Canes fan. Yeah, we suck, so what? It's UM-FSU. It goes deeper than the two teams on the field.
