Robert Knowles was the Scrimmage Leading Tackler...

Nobody has ever?

DJ had two fumbles against Duke.
Malik had 3 INTs in the first half in our bowl game.
Kosi went 3-6 with 2 INTs at Virginia.

And that’s just last season.

There’s plenty of blame to go around. Putting so much emphasis on one kid is childish and stupid.
I clearly wrote ON DEFENSE. Nonetheless, there's a huge difference between a QB and RB who touch the ball multiple times a game vs a safety/special teamer. Your comparison is even more stupid than your argument.

Knowles always does good in camp. His problem is during games. We have depth now so even if he starts, the minute he begins messing up I'm sure he'll get pulled.

Im pretty sure I remembering him causing a forced fumble or either recovering a fumble on special teams one game. He was suppose to be at FIU, I blame Golden. At the end of the day, I'd love for my son to ever accomplish the things that he has at 22. I just dont want him on the field against P5 competetion

What’s stupid is pointing out singular plays that caught your attention on the FSU game while ignoring the rest of the **** show display of the rest of the team.

Or somehow pinning the success of a triple option team’s success on the play of a single safety.

It would be one thing if he won a starting job but does anyone really care if he's getting 10 snaps per game?

Based on his past performances, I do.
I'm sure he is a nice kid and works hard, maybe he even plays well in practice. But he has shown over and over again, he can't get it done on gameday. He has given up too many big plays when given the chance to play. I feel we have seen enough of Knowles on gameday, especially against the like of teams like FSU/LSU. I don't want to see him play on any critical downs.

You obviously don't get it. And that's okay. I'll try one more time to explain.

Knowles stood out because he made such bad plays against FSU TWO YEARS IN A ROW.

Here's how the triple option works running the ball. All it takes is one player making a mistake on defense and it's a huge play for the offense. So when you can call which way a run is going based on which side of the field one specific SAFETY is on...that's pathetic. They knew Knowles wouldn't crash the line and that he takes bad angles. GTech almost won the game running right at him. When Knowles was off the field GTech barely moved the ball on the ground. I don't think they threw the ball more than once when he was on the field. Do yourself a favor and watch the tape.

If Knowles plays then Manny is not the Savage and Genius you guys hype him out to be. **** he shouldn't have played last year but Savage Manny didn't have the power the bench him

If Knowles plays its because the other Safeties couldn't beat him out for a starting job. You dont put the blame on anyone but them. They shouldn't have to make the coaches job tough.

There's a difference between critiquing his play and flat out bashing him. Is Knowles who I want back there starting? No and I'll admit that, but if the other guys cant beat him out then that's not knowles fault. I dont see anyone calling out Amari Carter or Hall...

And like I said what makes everyone think hes starting just because he led the scrimmage in tackles?
There is no difference they’re not bashing him because he is ugly or something personal. They’re bashing him because of his play. Dude doesn’t make ANY plays out there. The only thing he does is give up big plays.

Starting? I don’t want him to see the field.

What i don't understand, more then half of these mothafukas on this board (never played a down of football) talk **** about a kid that busted his *** with coach Feeley in the summer, one of the HARDEST workers on the team, one of the toughest kids that been through alot growing up, never in trouble.

Yeah, he's not the most talented kid here, but Atleast he's trying to work hard to help his team win.

So **** whoever got a problem with 20, GO TO ****.
Nothing in this paragraph has anything to do with his performance between the white lines idgaf if he Is the HARDEST WORKER. He’s out there running around like a chicken with it’s head cut off.

Stop Knowles hating. That boy could have transferred but stayed to finish out his 5 year with Miami. You don’t hear about homeboy getting into trouble.

He has played and will continue to play in games. He will likely have 30-40 tackles this season. Let him live.

He has 40 career tackles and a forced fumble. I have a feeling Knowles will rock the turnover chain this year. He has something to prove.

I agree with you I'd rather not see him starting , but
once again not his fault hes on the field if the other guys cant beat him out. Put that on the others. Also we are 1 week into practice the starting rotation hasn't been set everyone needs to calm the fu*k down. Once Diaz names the starters then feel free to go crazy.

Here’s the three long scoring plays for GT last year. Knowles doesn’t appear to be on the field for any of them?

I mentioned this in another thread.
I understand people who are frustrated with players during games if they make bonehead decisions or missed tackles. That is fair game.

But last week Knowles was mentioned by Baker as someone who has practiced well this Fall practice. And he backed it up supposedly by being the leading tackler of the first scrimmage according to someone (I have no idea but I am just going to ride with what the OP said on that.)

Whatever, If someone is showing some improvement and is working hard to get playing time that should be celebrated. Not scoffed at or spun into a negative.
Whether you like it or not the guy is a part of the Hurricane family and we should root for him to improve and not fail.

He’s one of maybe a handful of dbs that golden signed that won’t have an nfl future. Regardless of recruiting failures golden hit pretty well at db tbqh
