Robby Washington the new Phillip Dorsett

Man. You are right. The problem is you literally said the same thing last year about 2023 being stacked.
We missed on some real guys that would clean those holes up. That's recruiting. And if u read my posts over the years I always said it takes 3 elite classes ina. Row to become a power. Top 8 or 10 what we were doing with huge missed wasn't it. Elite eval schools weren't even fighting for kids that were coming under previous staffs. Maybe like 2-5 percent of those classes maybe

if you're small and planning to play on the outside you better be fast. Washington would be done a disservice not to be in the slot and schemed to find space

In the 2012 Notre Dame game dropped 2 sure tds. Basically took the life out of us. I don't remember many drops other than that.

Precisely. But even if Dorsett catches those 2 balls, we still lose the game 41-17 instead of 41-3, either way it was a blowout. Also, I loved the way that Golden used offensive mishaps as cover for the dreadful performances of His BFF's WEfense, He made an entire Raising Canes episode about the Dorsett drops.

Poor comparison imo
Dorsett has no wiggle and is straight line was. One trick pony type. But his 4.3 speed makes him dangerous. This Washington kid is a completely different type of player. Slot guy, quick and electric. Give him the ball in space and enjoy the show
Dorsett is in the NFL. What is with the hype of the next up and coming Wr. We suck for a decade and people are acting normal.

Dorsett and Washington are completely differently. This is a lazy eval. Respectfully.
Not saying they are the same type of player, I'm saying Robby can do what Dorsett did. I don't believe because Robby is below 6 feet that he has to play in the slot. He has been a monster on the outside in high school and I can see him doing that on the college level as well.

Based on the highlights I would agree with Robby being more "electric", while Dorsett had great straight line speed with a little less wiggle. The one thing that stands out with Robby is how quickly he accelerates from a dead stop or fake. It's ridiculous.

Could Robby Washington have a similar impact as Phillip Dorsett playing outside receiver for this team?

Player comparison:

Phillip Dorsett 5-10 170 as a high school SR

Robby Washington 5-10 186 as a high school SR

They both played outside receiver in high school, both have speed to take the top off a defense, I wil say Dorsett was faster but Robby is a lot more athletic. They both can go up and catch contested passes.

Robby has more dog in him and plays with more edge.

With Robby being a EE, I can really see him making an impact early and eventually becoming an elite outside receiver for this team, if put in position to do so.
Can he block under our oc helms

My comparison is Parris Campbell. If he gets a step or two below what Campbell was in college then we did alright here

I ain’t mad at this. He’s obviously not as fast, which you said, but from what I saw Robby is electric.

A lot has been made about our lack of getting receivers but I think some of it overlooks how good Robby and Ray Ray are.

Whose faster? Ray Ray or Robby?

Ray Ray looked fast as h e double hockey sticks (for the mods) in the AA game. He also looks like he has a little size to him.
