Rob Chudzinski is the only hope we have.....

I mean I was talking about Coley not Chud. As head coach Chid would just have to win and put players in the league- then this will recruit itself.

Chud would be another mistake by this admin, a guy that doesn't even want to recruit. U can't do a half azzed job in college it won't work.

He isn't my first choice. I want Stoops, Butch, or Rich Rod before Chud.

He should be way down the bottom

We don't have many options homie.

U close to the program, do u think al is fired? And second do u think Butch would be considered? Its the easiest hire of all time.

We are desperate at this point. We need to reach out to Harbaugh, Patterson, Gundy, Bob Stoops, or anyone else that will win at least 9 games on a regular basis. Let them tell us No before we hire someone like Chud, Schiano or Cristobal. We have to aim high. This next hire has to be a home run hire. This base and school needs someone they can believe in from the jump. Don't give me another salesman coming in trying to say the right things. I want a proven winner and someone kids want to play for because he wins not bc he is trying to win.

Knowing the people on this campus, I don't think he is fired, but there is a chance. I don't think they will even consider Butch, no not at all. It sucks but the people on this campus really don't care about winning, and they will not risk his "baggage" with the UNC scandal, even if he is cleared.

Mario, please

Give OP a break. He's clearly speaking in hyperbole. Put your agendas aside and partake in the conversation. Here, I'll start: Assuming a change is made, I think Chud is a nice candidate. Is he the best candidate? I have no idea. Clearly, he was successful here in the past. He coordinated an incredibly talented offense, which achieved their utmost potential (relatively speaking). I believe they were the number one offense in the country in 2001, and the team won a NC.

He has very little HC experience, but at least he has some. He's spent a lot of time in the NFL lately, so he can bring an NFL perspective here--which we have always tried to maintain. I've heard that he's not a big fan of recruiting. Can that be overcome with good assistants? Does he dislike the social aspect of it? Or does he dislike the player evaluation part of it?

There... continue the conversation.

The biggest issue with Chud is that he's had a past issue where his players don't trust him. If building any organization is based first on trust, it's less about "being a ****" and more about fundamental leadership skills. Butch was a "****" supposedly, but players trusted he'd get them drafted. Saban is an ongoing master *******, but players get closer to what what they need. There has to be a mutual trust between leadership and players. The good news is that Browns players defended him after he was fired there. Perhaps he stemmed some of the issues he had in Carolina.

Anyway, that is my primary concern with Chud. We can mitigate the potential recruiting issues.

What exactly do you mean about trust? In what context are we talking? From my perspective, I can tell you that everyone on our staff had their role. Roles weren't expressly defined all the time, but people knew their place. We had nice guys; we had no-so-nice guys. The buck always got passed to the coordinators, then always to the HC. Maybe the dynamic is similar here. Maybe he played his role as the OC, but then played a different role as the HC. Maybe the dynamic is different in college. I'm not too familiar with the inner workings at either level.

I think HCs and coordinators need to be ********--or some variation of it. At the end of the day it's a master/servant relationship. There needs to be some sort of authoritarian structure, or it wont work properly. I agree that results are what build trust. The kids trust that Saban, for as much of a monster that he is, will develop them to their maximum potential. I have to imagine Petrino is a similar type character.
