Rivals says Lockley is going to prep

Going to Prep but has stayed in communication with the coaches and is 100% cane still. Isn't really disappointed because he will play prep and be done after one semester. Thinks he can gain weight/find a position before arriving to UM. Will play X receiver at prep but still doesnt know if he will play TE/LB/WR for us. I'm assuming position will all depend on need at the time and how much weight he puts on. If they only take Herndon he will prob play TE IMO, but if they land pierce/dixon than he may play linebacker. Don't see him playing WR with Griffin in the fold and Langham on the way, both as big receiver targets.

I think Griffin is better at te and Lockley has the size and athleticism to be great in coverage versus opposing tight ends that seemed to kill us last season
 
Hope he continues to be a Cane (while at prep) and can enroll in January. He is a heck of an athlete.

Per CS:

- Tried hard to qualify, but wasn't able to

- Headed to Fork Union Military Academy

- Still 100% Cane

- Will spend one semester at prep and will arrive at UM in the spring

- Reports there Aug. 22

- Says going to prep school is a good thing for him

- Plan is for him to start off playing WR; referred to himself as the "Big X" (split end receiver)

- Will likely play TE or LB at UM

- Has to retake the SAT

This is the type of player that we need more of. Hoping all goes well for him at prep and that we stay in his ear every day.
 
What happened to the days where when a kid went to Fork Union and Hargrave (sp?) that it was an automatic that he came back to UM? ****. Now its **** near 50/50! Lets hope we see this kid again. He's the kind of athlete we need walking around Greentree if we are ever gonna get back in the BCS title game.
