Rising In-State 2029 Edge Rusher Ben McFadden: "Miami is most definitely one of the front runners"

Miami currently holds one commitment in the 2029 recruiting class, quarterback CJ Cypher. Mario Cristobal and the Hurricanes are already looking for the next additions to add to the cycle.
Rising in-state 2029 edge rusher Ben McFadden plays for Miami Carol City in Opa-Locka, Florida. While 247Sports do not have an official ranking system for the 2029 recruiting class yet, McFadden is expected to be a highly rated edge rusher. He currently holds a total of a dozen offers and measures in at 6-foot-5, 230-pounds.
McFadden plays on the Miami Carol City 7-on-7 team as a receiving tight end. This past weekend, he participated in the 305 Sports Invitational where he caught a couple of touchdowns in the end zone. This past season, he recorded a total of 16 tackles and 9.0 tackles for loss.
He recently camped at Miami this summer and received an offer on June 4th. He spoke with CanesInSight about the teams that are pursuing him the hardest in his recruitment, visits he has planned, and more.

Which schools are recruiting you the hardest right now?
The school that’s recruited me the most right now is Georgia, Alabama, and Texas Tech.
Where does Miami currently stand in your recruitment?
Miami is most definitely one of the front runners it's home, it's the crib, but for sure one of my top schools.
Do you have a timeline for when you would like to make a decision or narrow down your recruitment?
Right now I’m just enjoying my recruiting process with my oldest brother but we do plan on making decisions probably my 11th grade year.
Are you planning on releasing a top schools list or narrowing your recruitment anytime soon?
Sure, I’m just waiting to receive a few more offers then I plan on dropping my top schools.
Do you have any upcoming visits planned to Miami or any other schools?
Not as of right now. But, I visited Miami over 5-or-7 times these past couple of months. I suppose to visit Georgia, Alabmaa, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, and Notre Dame but I think I’m not going to make it before the season starts.
How do you feel like you would fit into Miami’s system?
I feel like I fit perfectly in Miami system just off the fact how hard they work and they have a champion ambition and hard body mentality it fit my personality and game perfectly.
What stands out about Miami compared to the other programs recruiting you?
See I’m from Miami so keeping it honest and telling me whats real is a big key Miami is not going to sell a dream everything is straight forward and hard work that wat separates Miami from other programs.
