Just because Mark Jones lives in west pembroke pines MEANS WHAT??.

Every one still thinks our NIL is being ran by a drug cartel in Medellin....listened to one of uf podcast and they were ranting n raving about us having the best team money can buy as if they arent in the portal....not even in our own state let alone national.

lol @ ppl know what a beautiful city we live in?. your out of touch. lol

EVERYONE HATES THE MIAMI HEAT still to this day for no other reason that Miami is a beautiful city....wait until the Dolphins light every one up this year again...same sh*t.

Miami as a city isnt liked by folks from other parts of the country and even in state....so it doesnt change the feelings for um.

We won on a national stage is it wasnt something that couldnt be hidden but believe me the hate is still there. I dont watch espn much but desmond howard and herbstreit never really hated um and usually were kind of on our side. So if u think that is new found you may be wrong there as well.
hardly out of touch. I've lived here all my life I understand that people have a certain view of the city because of the amount of minorities that live here. I don't think much of that is new I just think that there's a lot more acceptance to what the city looks like

We’ve made Desmond look like a Got**** fool on numerous occasions. He lives down here, and shows love every season. Until we gives him reason not to. How many seasons have we given him reason not to in the last twenty?

I told my son after the win, watch how the media portrays us. If they are hype and having fun about it, then they dont think we will really be that good. If the mood seems a little somber, and a little timid then you know, they know we might be a problem.

Also, look at the trivia question they had during our game. It was a direct shot of how bad we have been. Nothing related to Miami vs Florida. Nothing about the history, just a direct shot about not having a QB drafted. One of the few times during the game Tessitore and Palmer were happy.

I think that the game has developed into more progressive stances rather than conservative stances and based on how media and especially sports media is, they'll flow with the boat.

Plus, we have Mario. And Mario is a salesman and he's good with a lot of people.
I won't say that per say, Miami used to only recruit Florida divas and people/media noticed. TX Qb and a few other out of state guys helps our blind view of the true talent

So this is a rant and will have a certain tone so forgive me. I think things changed after the Shapiro scandal and Miami as a program has become more accessible to national media college game day against ND helped this isn’t 1986 where the sports media can’t find coral gables on a map and Miami is known for drug wars. Now campus is open to preseason shows, on campus studio host a podcast with national college sports people. Two “college game day” people have homes near campus. Also with the basketball team’s recent runs… we don’t play in the Miami arena anymore.

People know what a beautiful campus and city we live in. Listen to a mark jones canes broadcast that guy knows every Miami neighborhood since he worked for the heat. Times have changed! PS our 90’s ncaa violations are treated like Reggie bush’s heisman now! It’s a new day!

Nope.
The hate remains, it's just more subtle.
Ageezy hinted at this in this thread.
The "best team money can buy" is one that will continue to grow if we keep winning. Kind of like what you saw when LeVeronicca James jumped to the Heat and with the Marlins when they won the World Series.
Not that I really give a rip.

Not big on conspiracy theories ... but can never understand the NIL hate when we know other programs have been doing this forever, Mario alluded to as much ... NIL is really nothing more than pinpointing your weaknesses and improving that area through free agency ... Mario has done a great job of recruiting which allows us to go big game hunting vs having to replace/rebuild an entire roster ...

Don't get it twisted. They don't like us but they like it when we're good because it's good for ratings and we get as much hate watch as Notre Dame.

People still hate the Heat because of the Big 3 but yes it's seen as a "fake" sports town that's really just a tourist destination.

It’s sad when dudes don’t understand how hate works and how this is fake “love”. I’m not going to even waste my time 😂 let’s just say “they hate that they love it”. History is littered with examples of the mainstream hating the participants of entertainment forms but also loving their abilities and work. There isn’t a better form or style of dominant football than Miami Hurricanes dominant football, it’s just different. Lots of rap and hip-hop fans are anti-black racists and bigots. It’s called Cognitive Dissonance. They walk into their daughter’s rooms and Future, Drake and and NBA Youngboy are on the wall…then it hits different 😂

It does feel like hate and bias towards us the last several years has started to diminish a little. I think the hate and bias is still there, but just not as strong. Couple reasons why that might be.

1. We just haven't been that good in the last 20+ years. A lot easier to hate a winner.

2. We haven't done a lot of stupid and embarrassing stuff off the field or on the field in years. That brawl against FIU was an absolutely terrible look for us. We had kind of cleaned up our image under Butch. Things were slowly getting out of control under Coker. From the LSU brawl, stomping on the Louisville Cardinal's logo, and then the FIU brawl, we just came across as ****y and arrogant punks that weren't that good at football. The FIU brawl was really, really bad. Anybody who tries to spin it different is wrong.

3. We haven't been whinny and making excuses for some of our misfortunes these last few years. We've just kind of taken our lumps and admitted we aren't that good, whether it be players, coaches, or both and need to do better. Changes need to be made. I've always hated FSU, but outside of Miami fans and Florida fans, they weren't despised on a national level. Now look at them, they are the laughingstock of college football due to their constant whining and excuse making. Everybody hates those *******, and the media has been absolutely clowning them.

4. NIL has somewhat leveled the playing field and is not viewed as a bad thing. Miami was always viewed as the cheaters, although everybody in the world knew deep down that other top programs were paying players under the table and getting away with it for years. Now they have no excuse.

The old heads that remember we were good hate us. This gen (the one advertisers are after) only knows of us and NIL. That's a MAJOR plus moving forward.

Herbie noted he liked is for winning without the old school swagger. Just a good team beating up on people.

I kinda agree. Let the past be the past.
Plus, on Sunday night that LSU WR got hit with a 15-yarder for pointing his finger like a gun at the USC defensive players.

So the Randal Hill six-shooters in the tunnel probably won’t be coming back any time soon.
