So this is a rant and will have a certain tone so forgive me. I think things changed after the Shapiro scandal and Miami as a program has become more accessible to national media college game day against ND helped this isn’t 1986 where the sports media can’t find coral gables on a map and Miami is known for drug wars. Now campus is open to preseason shows, on campus studio host a podcast with national college sports people. Two “college game day” people have homes near campus. Also with the basketball team’s recent runs… we don’t play in the Miami arena anymore.

People know what a beautiful campus and city we live in. Listen to a mark jones canes broadcast that guy knows every Miami neighborhood since he worked for the heat. Times have changed! PS our 90’s ncaa violations are treated like Reggie bush’s heisman now! It’s a new day!

It's because NIL and power for athletes is modern now and the general consensus in the point of view. Reject the notion that players should be paid and you get slapped off the internet.

Plus, everyone can see that the NCAA is a corrupt ****show for other reasons, but the public and Miami now share the same view. We just knew it earlier than they did

This! Plus add that the ncaa used to be slower than the Catholic Church when it came to changes. But new prez nil have changed recruiting and in game rules over night. Mark 2024 as the year that “Rudy” era college sports died!

I think that the game has developed into more progressive stances rather than conservative stances and based on how media and especially sports media is, they'll flow with the boat.

Plus, we have Mario. And Mario is a salesman and he's good with a lot of people.

They hate was always overstated by our fanbase, **** near every media person has always said cfb is better when we are good. They are quick to try and hype anytime us we have shown any glimpse of being good

I think our fans were so use to the coverage our glory days had and couldn’t handle them talking about us like a regular mediocre football program that we have been for almost 20 years

I’ve gone down a YouTube foxhole of “UM/UF” reaction video all day yesterday..and let’s put this myth to bed now. The media is all in on us right now. Every media guy, podcaster and vlogger said we are absolutely a top 10 team and some even said top 5…the hate is over. People are finally ready to see Miami on the national stage again.

FSU is now the hated after whining about playoffs and suing the conferences....they will not have a home based on principal from the college presidents other than the Big 12

Yeah. A lot of stuff is slowly changing, perception-wise.

But some **** will never change.

Was chatting with a Gator fan at the tailgate that I set up. We had 30 vehicles that parked, and several tailgate tents.

So an older...rural...Florida alum was listening to me explain the setup, and he asked me (incredulously) how I knew everyone at the tailgate, and I told him that I knew about 75% of the people, and the rest were "friends-of-friends"...and then when he asked, I said that it was about 50-50 UM alums and friends/fans of UM.

And he made a comment about how, when he looked at our group...he KNEW a bunch of them were not UM alums...

And I just let THAT comment pass...

I heard it. I heard it in his voice. I knew what he was saying. I've heard it for the past 50 years.

So for all of the UM fans who like to think that "racism is over in America", I can assure you that it is not.

And I'm not even going to tell the story of the "Kevin Hart" comment, that is for another poster to tell...

This isn't the 30 for 30. We are the good guys. Doesn't it feel good? Enjoy it! Let someone else be the bad guy.

Nothing has changed.

Just because Mark Jones lives in west pembroke pines MEANS WHAT??.

Every one still thinks our NIL is being ran by a drug cartel in Medellin....listened to one of uf podcast and they were ranting n raving about us having the best team money can buy as if they arent in the portal....not even in our own state let alone national.

lol @ ppl know what a beautiful city we live in?. your out of touch. lol

EVERYONE HATES THE MIAMI HEAT still to this day for no other reason that Miami is a beautiful city....wait until the Dolphins light every one up this year again...same sh*t.

Miami as a city isnt liked by folks from other parts of the country and even in state....so it doesnt change the feelings for um.

We won on a national stage is it wasnt something that couldnt be hidden but believe me the hate is still there. I dont watch espn much but desmond howard and herbstreit never really hated um and usually were kind of on our side. So if u think that is new found you may be wrong there as well.
