RIP Rondale Moore

Just wonder if his season ending injury this past year had something to do with it?

Didn’t Dallas have a player that died by suicide recently too?

Both NFL and NCAA need to do more!
What more do you want the NFL to do? They implemented health and wellness policy, appointed mental health professionals for every team, and emphasize mental health and suicide prevention.

Yes, I remembered Rondale Moore R.I.P going ballistic on the suckeyes and Coach Jeff Brohm calling a great game for Purdue that night. Prayers to the family 🙏

For starters, they should shorten the season.
Football players at that level should not be playing this many games, leading to more injuries, concussions, etc leading to broken young men after football, although I am not saying this caused Moore's demise in this instance.
This was more of a general response to a bigger problem.
I do agree that the NFL has otherwise done good things for the current, and recently retired, players.

Well. Of course I can’t find them now but have seen several subtweets by former players saying they’re not doing enough. I sure hope they are doing all that.

Mental health + CTE (maybe) doesn’t give a **** about status or money.
I know that people don't like to say it out loud, but most people who are depressed are depressed because their lives absolutely suck by any objective measure. Very rationally speaking, they should be depressed.

Moore is not that case, so as you suggest, I would suspect CTE. Which is extremely scary, as he was only 26.

Yeah well a bigger pandemic is how humans cannot take personal responsibility. The NFL provides mental health counselors for every team at the league’s expense. I don’t know what else more the league can do except for make counseling sessions mandatory for each player.

For starters, players are not going to forfeit money. 10 game season means half the salary. I bet players won’t agree for that.

You point to one cause of depression. There are other factors at play - genetics, chemical
Imbalances in the brain, trauma, etc etc.
