Riley Williams

And? There are TEs all over the country who actually started or played rotational snaps for their team. He showed flashes aka made legit like 1 quality play, and then followed that up with doing literally nothing this yr. I mean if he comes for free sure…if we have to spend Money on him? Why would that make any sense. There are plenty more PROVEN blocking TEs we could go after. Or we could go after a top Plrtal TE who can do it all and rely on Schott and Gilbert to step up with Lofton likely still getting heavily in the mix even though I think he should primarily be a Hybrid Back now. ..
I mean we might be getting ahead of our skis... this is all based on an insinuation there may be a reunion, you are right, prob other blocking TEs with better tape. But then that is all the coach's know. As far as Riley its the devil you know. You know his character, you know his work ethic, you know his habits and traits, he knows the playbook, he knows the city of miami, all of those things are unknown for another player. I think it also depends on the role they see for him... 6th man in line glorified OL that has a threat to catch with rosters increasing to 105? sure why not, likely a low ceiling mid flood pickup. Relying on him to start? I agree with you. look for other better options and if you strikeout and now he is the best available then that is a different story.

I’m in the minority but using the Portal for a blocking TE seems like a waste of resources with Luka Gilbert and Owen Ruskavich on the roster. Both of these players are predominantly blocking TEs like Williams.

Allocate the money elsewhere and develop what you have. If you can’t teach a big body to block effectively, then we have deeper problems.
ruskavich is...gilbert isnt

Disagree.

Bauman had 63 catches for 610 yards and 13 TDs for Tulane before transferring to Miami. Compare those stats with Arroyo who had less catches (35), less yards (590) and less TDs (7).

Not saying Bauman was the second coming of Winslow, but if Arroyo was a receiving TD, so was Bauman at Tulane.
Disagree all you want. Your take is dumb. Bauman compiled those stats over four years. Arroyo compiled his in mostly one.

Bauman was a red zone target at Tulane because of his size (pause). Nice try with your stat manipulation though.

Good blocking tight end and has upside as a pass catcher. I’ll take him back in a heartbeat
