I’m in the minority but using the Portal for a blocking TE seems like a waste of resources with Luka Gilbert and Owen Ruskavich on the roster. Both of these players are predominantly blocking TEs like Williams.

Allocate the money elsewhere and develop what you have. If you can’t teach a big body to block effectively, then we have deeper problems.

my eyes tell me that he's not Renaldo Nehemiah, but he's a better blocker and receiver than 87 and 9.

absolutely, wham blocks are part of the run game under Dawson. although 87 got better as the year developed, he was never great at it especially at the beginning of the year.

Agreed that TE blocking was abysmal. But, the two culprits are Lofton and Bauman. Two TEs who are predominantly receiving TEs, not blocking TEs.

The problem is that our blocking TEs are true freshmen. Why not develop them?

I wouldn’t make a primarily blocking TE a priority. Just develop what you have…shouldn’t be that hard.

With that said, I would pay a premium for Brady Foley, the TE from Tulsa. He would be a massive addition to the roster. Give him whatever you plan on paying Williams and overpay if you have to. He would add a dimension currently missing from this offense.

Think he's a bit better than a blocking te but generally agree. Ideally we'd get a weapon at te not just a solid guy.
