Riley possibility to USC

This is what happens when you accept the inevitable and move on from your HC earlier in the season. Miami is being left behind because they are incapable of learning from 2 decades of mistakes. USC, a small private school went out and just took a coach. What are you gonna do Frenk?
There are a LOT of parallels & similarities between USC & Miami when you look at both schools, but USC cares way more about winning

If you truly want Mario here, you should love this news

Riley will but **** Mario nine out of 10 times in recruiting and 10 out of 10 times during the season.

All those Calley players going to Oregon are now going to stay home

Lincoln Riley leaving Oklahoma to become USC head football coach, sources say

Lincoln Riley said he wasn't leaving Oklahoma for LSU.

He didn't say he wasn't leaving the Sooners for USC.

In a stunning move on Sunday, Riley, 38, accepted the head-coaching position at USC, according to ESPN and multiple reports. He replaces former Trojans coach Clay Helton, who was fired in September after posting a 46-24 record in seven seasons.

Riley guided the Sooners to four consecutive Big 12 titles and three College Football Playoff appearances in his first four seasons. Oklahoma was eliminated from the Big 12 championship game following a 37-33 loss at Oklahoma State on Saturday night.

Following the Bedlam loss, after there was widespread speculation that he was LSU's choice to replace the departing Ed Orgeron, Riley said, "I'm not going to be the next head coach at LSU."

Former Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops, who will be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame on Dec. 7, will coach the Sooners' bowl game, a university source told ESPN's Adam Rittenberg, confirming multiple reports.

Stoops coached the Sooners for 18 seasons before retiring in June 2017. He led Oklahoma to a national championship in 2000, 10 Big 12 championships and 14 seasons of double-digit victories, and held a 190-48 overall record before handing off the program to Riley ahead of the 2017 season. He has remained active around the program, including helping to coach a practice last year when the staff was short-handed due to COVID-19 cases.

Riley's departure is a big blow to the Sooners, who are about to transition into the SEC. Riley had a 55-10 record in five seasons, including a 37-7 mark in the Big 12.

Oklahoma has targeted Arizona Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury as one of the potential replacements for Riley, league sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Kingsbury has one year remaining on his contract after this season.

This is **** of sales job for Mario!

honestly this might be a good thing to us although on surface it looks unrelated

cristobal's job just got infinitely harder

and our admininstration just saw another small private school go land a HUGE fish and invest in a coaching decision

I think we pull all the stops next weekend.

now is cristobal the right guy? no idea but if miami THINKS he is, we'll get him

I cannot imagine a Cali kid would choose 3+ years in Norman Oklahoma over Los Angeles, California now @Rellyrell

Listen bro,

Washington, Colorado, UCLA, and now Oregon have had their shares at the Pac-10, Big-8 (Colorado in the 90’s), and Pac-12 head of the table ONLY when SC was down.

SC is a beloved program, that controls recruiting from the farthest South (San Diego) to the Inland Empire, Los Angeles, all the way up North to the outskirts of Central California. All these kids leaving to go to Oregon, UCLA, Washington, Bama, OU, etc. was b/c SC was a mess. SC is going to lay claim to Mater Dei, Poly, Bosco, Servite, Rancho, Lincoln, and Corona Centennial again. I can almost guarantee that.

Where does one start?

Much bigger school, they are the undisputed big dog in the most populous and wealthy state in America, longer tradition, more than 1-2 runs in their history, so many more alumni, beloved in LA, a massively, massively larger amount of financial support from alumni and donors than what we've had in the past... Miami is a great town but LA is the biggest CFB media market in the world... Hollywood (everyone wants to build a brand these days)....

Also many USC people stay in LA and continue to support them for their whole lives... Miami alumni, which again is a much, much smaller group, mostly scatters back to South America, the NY and the NE, Chicago, etc. Miami is also a very fickle sports town... LA people are more devoted, former players cal literally get away with murder... (helps with recruiting)...

Wow, that really sucked to write all that. Now I am depressed. But being intellectually honest is the first step on the road to recovery. Or is it flushing your stash? I can't remember.
Also, better academically.

Chances Kliff's agent lobbed that nugget out there to get a sweet extension?

Wonder if Jake Garcia will think about going home now…he’s not playing next year anyway so that could be his sitting out year plus Lashlee is gone..…man I sure hope not.
