riley leonard not walking through that door

Which basically means they played according to the strength they had at qb.
And that means we shouldn’t expect the same offense.
But it doesn’t mean they’re gonna completely abandon the run game or qb runs. It’s what they were successful at. And it also doesn’t meant their qb can’t throw based on camp reports.

But for people in here to say they’re gonna suck because they don’t have a qb that runs like Leonard is short sighted.
Your basically saying that their oc can’t adapt or their qb is pure cheeks
I just have a hard time believing that staff botched the qb for position and only had a stable of 3 dudes that sck.
I don't believe anyone thinks that. What I believe is that their QB will make some plays and he will make some freshman mistakes.

I also believe their OL isn't as good as they're hyped up to be. I did the analysis and posted the RB stats against top 40 run defenses. With such good RBs, their production should be consistent and it wasn't. There was a significant drop off against top 40 run defenses. I'm sure the defenses schemed against the run, because they didn't fear Leonard as a passer. Miami had a better run defense than any team ND faced in the regular season last year. I believe our DL is better than our 2024 DL.

So, outside of Love and/or Price popping a big run or 2, I see our DL shutting them down. They didn't show they could run well enough consistently against any top 40 run defense, why would anyone believe they will do it on us? That's nothing against their RBs ability, it's an indictment on their run game as a whole against top 40 run defenses.

i made it about riley leonard, but i've looked on that too ... they have two nice corners ... they lost a big time safety and linebacker ... they were their top tacklers ... their top tackling dlineman went to the league, he also led them in sacks ... they're replacing some top guys ... they also aren't the biggest up front ... one of their starters is sub 300lbs ... they have flaws, the question is can we exploit them
That safety was REALLY good for them. To me he was actually the MVP of that defense. That’s a big loss

Said it in several threads. Denbrock’s last 3 teams, the QB has led the team in rushing attempts. That isn’t happening this year. Will they be as efficient on offense? Stay tuned.

CJ Carr actually did lead the team in rushing attempts, which include sacks. LMAO Denbrock is a ******* moron.

I think they threw a pass on every play of the first drive. Denbrock was trying to make "fetch" happen...

I'm on another thread arguing with a Miami poster who is telling me that Carr "broke" a few of his QB draws...

****, I didn't even count the three sacks.

I just counted the 8 rushing attempts for 20 yards. I'll give credit for the 13-yarder, but the other 6 or 7 yarders were mostly Carr dropping back, seeing our LB go with the TE, and then darting forward for 5 or 6 easy yards. I don't really count those as a running QB who makes defenders miss and/or overpowers them to break tackles.
