Riding with Tyler

On the final play last week, Tyler had the option to throw to X only. There was no TE option route or a back out of the backfield option. So he has to throw the hero throw into double coverage or make something happen by moving out of the pocket. He did so but no receiver moved with him. How is that his fault.
X was working towards the sideline with TVD. It was the easiest of his throwing options. Instead he throws across his body back across the middle of the field late.

On the sideline, you could see Dawson angrily asking him why he didn't throw X.

Stop defending the indefensible.

I know the site is down on him. But I don't think it is all on him. He has had 3 OC's in 3 years and with the new idea of keeping both the TE and RB in 2 block he has had to choose 3 receivers to throw to instead of 5 in the Lashlee offense. My defining moment on the season is the tremendous shot UNC hit him on the TD pass to George in the UNC game. They hit him in the stomach, internal organ area, and yes he wasn't the same after that hit. But I believe the Tyler of 2021 is still within him. So I am going to ride on his talent these last two or three games. Hate on him all you want but you are foolish if you didn't see that hit and don't think it affected him for a long time.

TVD always plays well when he has 5 options instead of 3.
While I'm not a very big fan of Dawson, the max protect that you are referring to has been a staple of his offense from the beginning. Watch the TD pass to Horton in the ATM game. That came from a max protect look. TVD started throwing picks vs Georgia Tech which was before the big hit vs UNC. Now I have no doubt that TVD was likely hurt during practice of the bye week before GT. At least that's my theory. I think that rather than go to the true freshman Emory Williams, Mario decided to just trot Tyler out there and have him Tuff it out. Mario just ordered Dawson to scale down the offense and feature the running game due to Tyler not having the necessary hand and arm strength needed to make the throws he would usually make. He would have gotten out with a win but Mario had to be Mario and instead of kneeling to run the clock out, he wanted to grind the clock out by running between the tackles to show how Tuff and Fizicul we are.

With this defense I'm riding with winning the turnover battle. We should win if we do so. Our defense and trenches have given us a shot every game in spite of a streak of 3.2 turnovers a game. Haven't been able to say that in long time.
I'd like to see what jacurri can do even if TVD doesn't Chris Rix it up. He needs some reps in game.

I think we have hit the ceiling with the Dawson -Mario duo. This is it.

Or maybe he’s just not very good.
Crazy to me that people still believe TVD is going to somehow turn into a serviceable quarterback after watching him play the last 5 games.

He’s been wildly inconsistent his whole career here. He got on a hot streak two seasons ago, even then he played lousy against FSU, especially the 1st half.
He has sucked the last two seasons and been beyond awful the last 5 games.
I see a QB that is mentally broken, and is not coming back, at least not for Miami.

Yea people may not like the play call for their own reasons but the ply was there to be made. Me personally not a fan of the roll out but I’m sure Dawson thought pressure was gonna come but nevertheless the play worked TVD just threw a monkey wrench in lol

It would be very difficult to disagree with this and I'm certainly not going to. I think for most rational fans that at this point they don't believe TVD is going to somehow magically turn into some great QB. What I do believe is that most of those fans see TVD as a QB that can occasionally go on streaks and light it up for a short time before precipitously falling off. Their hope and mine as well is that TVD goes on one of those types of streaks for the next 3 games. I'm not saying that the possibility has a high probability of occuring but I am saying that it is well within the range of possibility based on historical precedent. Supposedly TVD is close to being 100% healthy so maybe we will get to see the good TVD finish out the season before we close the TVD chapter at UM and brother does that chapter need to close!

I believe his last 4th quarter comeback was ‘21 Nc State?
This game will be tight, hopefully he’s got another one in him.

On the same note, off the top of my head TVD has 6 game-ending INTs.

Know who I am riding with? Guidry, and the defense...

They are going to give us the best chance to win this game.

Hopefully Tyler does the job he is being paid to do, and doesn't lose this game for us. The simple truth is we don't have of a choice. We HAVE to "ride with Tyler."

Outside of rumors of Jacurri wanting to preserve his redshirt (he already has), and him not wanting to get hurt (I actually believe this) before leaving the team (I believe this also), exactly who do we have to "ride" with?

Speaking of JB, can anyone in the know tell us the real deal? I'm not buying the idea of him being able to sit out with zero repercussions, only to allow him to sail off into the sunset. GMAFB. What's really going on with this guy? Does he suck that much? Serious question, because if TVD gets hurt, who do we put in?

Toast is cute. You found a meme. But it isn't serious analysis. But you be you. Be intellectual

Good morning. Hope we win today and Van Dyke plas well. He has to for any chance of a W. I dont think he's very talented. The interceptions and fumbles arent due to injury, imo. He's never been that good. Had some good games, but overall he is a very average QB. Terrible decision making is an understatement.

you don't know that. Didn't look that angry to me. They were talking.

This isn’t exactly hard-hitting analysis, but I said all week last week that if we didn’t turn the ball over, we’d have a chance to win in the 4th quarter. Well, we had the ball down 7 on the 50 yard line.

Louisville isn’t as good as fsu, so the same should hold true this week.

Just throw the ball to the guys in the Miami jersey. Is that too much to ask? Clemson and FSU proved dont turn the ball over and you have a chance. TVD is broken. Prove me wrong today.
