Ricquan Southward changes to Ohio State

t didn't take too long for Lakeland high school's Ricquan Southward to have a change of heart. He was recently offered by the University of Miami and was ecstatic about that scholarship offer. On November 6th, the 6-foot-2, 210 pound receiver pulled the trigger for Miami and was ready to become a Hurricane. That all changed today.

Last week, Southward took a visit to Columbus, Ohio to take in the Ohio State - Penn State game. He was on an official visit with the Buckeyes and today, he became the newest member of the 2012 class.

"I just feel like Ohio State has more of my playing style. I feel like I will be a much better wide receiver up there instead of at Miami."

The Buckeyes newest wide receiver commit is a strong, physical athlete. His play has drawn comparisons to that of Terrell Owens.

"My main recruiting coach is Coach (Stanley) Drayton. He will be my coach up at Ohio State. Although we aren't very close right now, I believe I will look to him as a father-figure by the time I am done up there."

Southward had a good time in Columbus last weekend and although Ohio State lost, it didn't seem to hinder his feelings on the school.

"I had a great time on the trip. It was a tough loss, but the team fought hard. I really liked the school, the campus, and it has a great atmospher as a whole".

Southward is currently ranked #145 in the FlaVarsity 160, but is sure to rise on the next update. He has yet to decide if he will be taking any visits at this time.

Lolz.

Thanks for the post

If that's the case why commit to Miami

This is recruiting these days. Kids change their minds all the time, just think its funny when they give really odd reasons for it. Good luck to the kid, we have enough WRs in this class.

I really dont care about this loss. He was redundant with D'Mauri Jones and Carter anyways. I hope we go after a burner at WR with his scholly, maybe that Charlie MIller kid.

It's disappointing. Seemed like a good prospect to me. But with two months to find a replacement, not a big concern.

Wait, how does he know Meyer will keep the WR coach?

Yeah, wait until Drayton is cut lose and some other coach just says the same thing. I think its the size of the crowds, the atmosphere, and the amount of blowjobs he got there as opposed to here. Both literal and figurative.

You should care, dude is easily tied as our best WR in this class.

This shocking kinda. I was watching Lakeland play in the state playoffs on Friday on TV and the announcer said that Southward to Miami wasn't 100%. I guess he was right...

Huge loss. Kid's going to be a devastating downfield blocker for Braxton Miller.

To **** with it. We need some corners, DL's, OL's, LB's, and can take this slot and get some more of what we need.

Kid was all Miami. I mean all Miami supposedly. Was previously a HUGE fan of the Urban Liar during his time at UF as are most kids from kis school for some "reason" Well, seems like he received a little phone call then had a small gathering with his Lakeland peeps......and the rest is history

Kid doesn't know any of the OSU coaches btw. But he got a phone call.....lulz

Just think of mr jack Daniels over at Palm Beach. Same sorta dealings here.

Edit: oh and Urban Liars next target is Northrup. Hopefully he doesn't listen to the bull****
