Richt's playcalling

the offense right now can literally run any play from any formation, and all skill players are in play to get the ball, very hard to defend

The wrinkles in the run game, along with what he does with QBs is amazing.

But don't get it twisted - early on we had like 2 run plays and every ACC team we played was teeing off on us.

It does seem as though he was saving the playbook for these big games *shrugs*

We made adjustments in the offense last November as well, and it worked out great. In season adjustments to the scheme are the key with this staff.

Remember last year and even this year when people said Richt was not a good playcaller?

Good times, armchair QBs on this board wrong again. **** you right along with Finebaum

We weren't wrong, Richt finally adjusted and created new plays. We got the results we wanted.

Maybe, just maybe, he's breaking in a new starting QB this year with an OL that everyone considered our weak point, with a backup RB that few could replace Walton and had little real playing time before this year, and getting Freshman like Harley and Thomas on the field.

Just maybe, all these guys are finally putting the pieces together and the confidence is high now.

I feel like the offense has gotten better every week, and I feel like somewhere in the middle of that VT game the defense really woke up. I think the defense was decent in the first half of the season, but there were holes and mistakes. It feels like the intensity has raised up since VT and guys are making big plays. I believe we are now at 3 straight games with 4 turnovers?

This might be very nitpicking, but after Homer's long runs, he ran Homer again for a 2 yard loss. Richt did the same thing last week with same result. Please stop it.

Richt play calling has gotten way better loving the new wrinkles I just never wana see dayall Harris run another jet sweep

Preach! Them, and the ones finding any and every reason to **** on Diaz because they didn't like the hire, and don't forget the fans who have been ready to cut countless players that have made big plays week in and week out this year. This middle finger is for you guys and anyone else that doubts us.

There has never been anything wrong with richt's play calling this year. While dummies were busy scapegoating richt earlier this year, they failed to understand WHY the playcalling was the way it was back then. They somehow decided that richt just "forgot " how to call plays after doing it for 20 fu&&king years. Just plain retarded.

I can't believe you're even showing your face around here, much less trying to act like a hardass. You were peeing your leggings heading into this game.

You know what, I thought that exact same thing, bit then it occurred to me he didn't want to sub out and allow ND to sub as well. He had the personnel on the field he wanted to run against and took advantage.

Homer had to be pretty gassed after that big run though.

He's Pickle Richt, b#tche's!

If you look at my message u will know, I have the utmost respect for CMR and Diaz for what they have blessed me where in Texas track record. People were complaining about show his hand like and idot instead of keeping a poker face until when it counts. LOL

Not sure what you just said but your avatar is awesome

that would be four straight games with four turnovers

Pastor Richt has been on a roll for quite awhile. Poor OL play in the UNC game prevented the blowout we were all expecting. Richards being banged up and inconsistent hasn't helped.

The only poor plays were a few sweeps to Homer that ND smelled and stuffed. One was a 3-and-4 that lost yardage, and Bags missed the FG. In the end it meant nothing. Richt was seemingly taking boot off Kelly's throat.

Nit-picking after a huge win, I know.

Thanks for the correction. I knew it was something like that.

Honestly, I think the Walton injury might have changed our season for the better. I know that is a neg worthy statement but hear me out. Our offense with Walton was to run, then run again, then try a play action pass. Running to set up pass. Also - basically no substitutions, Walton would play 95% of snaps, maybe see Homer 4-5 times, and basically zero of Dallas. Richt was going to run his SEC style O, Rosier wouldn't be asked to do much except be a game manager.

After Walton went down, Richt was forced to reevaluate the O, Homer is a faster back but he's not quite the inside the tackles runner that Walton is. We became a pass-oriented offense, setting up the big runs. Since Homer doesn't have Waltons game time conditioning yet, we got to see more of Dallas, who has been electric. We also got to see Rosier develop as a passer, because I don't think he would be this sharp if he'd been given a limited playbook to minimize mistakes. Our offensive identity now is built around explosive plays, but I don't think we have that if Richt is comfortable with giving Walton 30-35 touches a game.

Certainly not happy that Walton went down, but I do think it forced Richt to be creative and is the difference between sitting here with two losses and being the #2 team in the country.

I've never been overly critical of Richt's play calling, but there are some situations that still leave me puzzled. When we are in short and goal situations it's obvious by now our OL can't make the push.
Why aren't we calling fades to our 6'4 & 6'5 WR's Cager and Langham. Seems obvious, am I missing something ?
