Don't need to answer the second question. Georgia hasn't done anything with Smart that they didn't do with Richt. Smart also has the luxury of being the coach of Georgia when the SEC has had it's worst season since Saban's first year at Alabama. Let's see how Smart does against Clemson or Oklahoma before we're ready to crown him.

Clemson just isn't scared of this moment. It's incredibly difficult to get a group of guys together who aren't very good to get up and beat a team like Clemson that is full of gigantic, well-coached athletes who are used to winning on huge stages. Georgia would've crapped the bed against Alabama, maybe they'll still get the chance to. But we are headed in the right direction, there's no doubt about that. If you don't think so, just go root for another team because Richt is here for awhile.
 
Richt is simply a very poor OC who literally makes the worst day game decisions known to mankind. Stop tooting his horn, he is an average head coach that constantly gets out coached. When Is Richt going to run a real reverse or screen ? Maybe after he gets fired in 2020

We're playing our first TRULY meaningful game since the 2003 Fiesta Bowl. Is Mark Richt responsible, YES YES YES HE IS RESPONSIBLE for this. Be grateful we are on this stage so much sooner than any rational person would've thought. Do we have the personnel and the depth to compete with Clemson right now? Answer that question. If someone told you two years ago we'd have Malik Rosier as our QB and our top 3 offensive playmakers are out with injury and going against a powerhouse program coming off a national championship, how would you realistically expect the team to perform?

He had the fourth highest winning percentage among active coaches at GEORGIA. That is not average.
 
Lol great start by Richt in the second half. He continues to put Rosier in a very bad situation calling drop back passes. Where is Dallas? Where is our offense? Hmmm, Mark is a gifted play caller and he’s just toying with Clemson till the 4th quarter
 
how the **** do we get stuck with these stubborn HCs... the last one wouldn't fire his buddy DC even to save his own job.... now we have one who wouldn't hire an OC..

Richt can recruit. But Kirby has the Dawgs in the playoffs winning the SEC. I like Richt, but his stigma is he doesn't win big games against championship caliber teams. So far the stigma holds. I hope he can change that in the future.

I don't know what everyone thought was going to happen?

Offense has sucked all year. Rosier has been bailed out on ****** throws all year. The defense? C'mon... We had 4 games and 19 turnovers... 2/3 of those turnovers were less our defense and more the other team making ****** snaps, ****** passes, etc. Notre Dame and Virginia Tech beat themselves... This team has been a top 17 team all year. Many were FOOLS to think we were ready for a college playoff.

We need to keep recruiting and keep getting better... It's a process. I agree that Richt isn't that great of a play caller... and he really lacks energy which I think we really need with these Florida kids.

Clemson is everything the great Miami was. Fast, Strong, Dominate and they have one of the best coaches in the country. I had us at 27-13 coming in to this and still liked Clemson despite the spread. I guess I'm just a realist.
 
Yeah I get it, losing 38-0 let’s put the ball on the 50 and pin them down. Richt playing like he wants to be shut out instead of going for 4th and 10. Are you kidding smart grow some stones. Ouch that is PATHETIC
 
This year has been a **** of a ride. I see improvement and Im happy with it. Most of you would have been jumping for joy If someone would have said we would beat FSU, Win the Coastal, and go to the Orange bowl. Expectations rise as the wins mount up. This is a hard lost but its not the end of the world.
 
Some of your richt apologists act like you never seen this before. Mark is a horrible play caller. Attitude reflects leadership. His attitude is a doorknob. It has always been that way. Just think back to his press conference

Exactly Smart is using most Richts players. And a vanilla scheme playing in an abysmal division. 1 semi quality win at Norte Dame. And spilting with Auburn.
