Richt won't be fired from the Parade of Bad Feelings

If you're trying to make that happen, I suggest you invest in workout equipment or maybe a gym membership. Over the next 2 1/2 years you'll get an incredible body with all the energy you didn't waste making cases why "Richt needs to be axed a question."

Said it before: the win was getting UM to actually spend modern football money. Yay. Unless we lose out this season and fail historically the next, UM will live off patting itself on the back for taking the plunge. Yet again Miami finds a way to turn a win into a loss.

This isn't an apologetic for the man -- it's irrespective of him to some degree -- but I've got no energy to read every diatribe against Richt, his staff or the players, because it's evidence without a judge presiding over it. I'm sick, absolutely sick with what has transpired over the last 4 games. But I'm not making myself feel good by looking for an out with Richt, because it's not happening for awhile. I don't want him gone anyway. I don't think. Honestly I don't know what I want, other than wins. That's all I want. I think we're easy enough to please in that regard.

I know we have a duty to dissect his mistakes, question his methods, lament his decisions and collectively lose our mind. I get the group therapy aspect of that, even though I don't have the energy for it. Personally I'm toast. We've had 15 years straight of disappointing seasons. I was thinking about that today: From 2002 until at least 2016, Miami Hurricanes football has been a disappointment. And yeah I'm calling that L in Arizona a big fat disappointment, one that's spawned a perpetual cycle of disappointment that I call The Parade of Bad Feelings.

I think this is what I really wanted to say: I don't care if you want Richt fired. I don't care if you don't. I barely have the energy to care how I feel, because for 15 years caring deeply has resulted in a greater depth of bad feelings. Every year has been The Parade of Bad Feelings that ended with a Special Edition Bad Feeling -- or an attempt to say the sad convoy of floats will find another route the following year.

But for 15 years that hasn't happened. The Parade of Bad Feelings has used one route: our schedule. And Richt is not going to be removed from it any time soon.

The worst administration in the country isn't going to fire their sacred cow...ever. If/when he does leave here it will be on his own terms.

For me it's simple. I'm going to take a wait and see to what he does this summer. If he owns up to his garbage mid life crisis infatuation with play calling, swallows his pride, and hires a dedicated competent OC....I'm willing to give him time.

But if he does nothing....I'll be done. I'm not going to waste any more time or money on something that the people who have been appointed to custodian it....don't care about and are too incompetent to correctly manage.

Everything that has happened to this football program since Frodo took over as president has been self inflicted, and I'm tired of it. If their secret goal was to destroy the program and the fanbase...they are doing a **** of a job.

Please tell me it's Shalala you're going after because if you're going after the new President who opened up the UM General Fund for the FIRST TIME EVER TO FUND FOOTBALL that's BEYOND ABSURD.

The changes since Frenk took over have been NIGHT AND DAY financially. $ is the barometer. We're spending it now.

I agree Frenk as been a blessing for the program. He has provided 100% support for the AD dept. unlike Shalala

He has done his part of the bargain. Anyone debating this is emotional and/or miserable.

The financial commitment is completely different. We are paying our coaches more than a lot of the "big programs". Notre Dame is an example. They pay their HC 1.65 mil if I'm not mistaken.

Look Richt might not be the guy. I was concerned about his big game performance and his 5-10 record against UF but don't throw Frenk in just because. Shalala was the worst thing to happen to Miami athletics. Frenk? I fuggs with this dude.

Why do some fans assume Richt is a sacred cow and here as long as he wants to be? The OP is correct. The win right now is a financial commitment to fund a top program. The administration and BOT will want a return on investment.

Let's see what Richt does in the offseason.

I also have the sneaking suspicion that Miami didn't "take the plunge," because although they spent an extra million on the HC than their normal budget, theyre only paying one coordinator and most likely getting a discount on a lot of the staff. Not to mention the "donation" which just feels suspicious; it wouldn't and shouldn't, but i dont trust anything that goes on around there.

For those of us who have been through the constant disappointment with this program over the last 15 years, I know exactly how you feel, OP.

I'm pretty much drained with UM football at this point. We stink. And we've stunk for so long that we probably just stink. We're Pitt for the years after their great teams of the 70s.

I've pretty much come to grips with the idea that Rix isn't a difference maker as a HC. He's going to produce worse results in 2016 than a team that was basically uncoached in 2015. That 2015 team pretty much coached itself to better results than Rix will achieve this year. If that doesn't sober any of the UM fans thinking we're on our way then I don't know what will.

Rix isn't going anywhere. So my only real hope is that he'll be honest with himself and the program giving him $4M to produce putrescent results and hire a solid OC who can sit in the booth and focus only on one task--moving the ball and scoring points. If he doesn't do that, then I realize we're just a ***t program.

I'll continue to watch college football like a maniac, and my focus will be on playing the role of hater. Pulling for FSU and other better programs to lose.

Yep. We are 1-4 against p5 schools. The Richt era is a failure so I might as well root hard against FSU for the next five years while UM sets more and more records for incompetence.

UM fans are relegated to being haters of better programs at this point. I used to laugh at fans of other teams who would mock our attendance because they had no answers for us on the field. I get it now.

Maybe 14 years of bad feelings but I'm not going to call a season where we lost the NC game (and seemed to have won for about 3 seconds before a certain call was made) a disappointment.

We lose 3 close games with this **** poor talent and he can't coach....even everyone's favorite Butch would struggle with this team...its a mess that only recruiting will solve

Butch was much better at recruiting than coaching but he would not have lost to ND.

5th place in the ACC Coastal at 1-3.

Lul @ Richt and his merry flock of white knights.

Don't really agree with all of your points, but in the heart of the matter I do. It's been a long, pathetic 15 years of inglorious football. You've kinda gotta get a little weird to enjoy the game at this point. Because the traditional means -- winning the actual games -- don't happen enough to justify watching with any depth of feeling.

Hard to believe it has been 13 years since Miami last fielded a quality team, 2003. Most of the elite talent that matriculated to the NFL has retired or are close to filing the papers.

I will wait to see Richt's post-season evaluation.

In the meantime, hope the team can salvage the season by becoming bowl eligible and winning a minor bowl.
