Richt won’t last as long as some think

He may be gone in another year but for family reasons. Depends on how thick his wifes skin is. She will be hearing the dissatisfaction with him every where she goes..Miami.is not Athens. Miami fans ARE brutal

Just as brutal as Eagles fans. I KNOW. I'm an eagles fan.

When Richt got here he mentioned being revitalized to be calling plays and watching film with QBs in the film room. Sadly enough that move has made his life miserable. I will still give him a tiny bit of sympathy bc Malik is so bad and his next guy is a bonehead True Freshman. Either way, his offense is garbage. It’s a HS offense with no imagination and the kids don’t have any fun playing in it at all. It’s boring and easy to defend no matter the athletes.
Long story short, hoping he sees he could make his life a lot easier if he gets a younger energizes OC in here to light up the score board. He has a trusted guy in Manny on the D and just needs that for the O now and he can truly take a lot more pressure off himself. If he really wants his hands on something then take of ST duties after you get an OC.

I usually think your posts are right on, but this is your best work.

My prediction is that he’ll coach one more season and negotiate a buy out. Wish it was this offseason, but his ego won’t allow it.
I think he sees it but can’t do anything about it because he is relying on Williams next year. He knows rosier sucks and kosi and weldon are fack ups. He will hitch his wagon to Williams and because his system still sucks. Williams won’t do well and he will burn out as it will not be fun.

He looked like a beaten man ready to hang it up last night. He’s not built for the level of toxicity he’s about to face. He’s used to hearing rumblings from rednecks with bangs. He’s not prepared for this.

I could see him working something out with UM and stepping down. He was ready to retire after UbaGA booted him. He probably should have.

He needs to pursue his next calling in life, which should be something less stressful that requires less time and thinking on the fly. He should get himself healthy and move on to the next phase of life.
I shut the game off after 14-7 didnt watch highlights did not watch anything sports period..........How bad did he look? Im glad he looked bad though because he has a sense of reality that its not going to work out.

Take your lumps w the young guys, and not just at QB, btw.

At least you'll save face w your recruiting class and be able to sell any disappointments or losses as part of the rebuild.

What's the point of winning 8 game w your 5th year QB who won't be drafted and who is getting booed all game by the 10 home fans who actually show up?

If the season continues to spiral downward and we lose our bowl game, I don’t care what changes he makes in the offseason (and for the record he won’t make any) he will be fired if he loses to Florida. That loss, assuming everything between now and then stays the way it’s trending, would be as unacceptable as the Golden loss to Clemson. I don’t care about contracts, extensions, and IPF donations, that loss would mark a point in the program where the AD and the BOT have to decide if they care at all about saving athletics. That loss would dig a hole for football that can only be dug out of by firing a coach. If they didn’t fire him it would make it clear to anyone who cares about Miami athletics that the powers in charge don’t view football as any type of priority.

People keep mentioning that $1mil donation to the IPF. If this chit continues, they will hand Corch Richt his tax deductible donation form for the IPF with that pink slip...

There's a lot to LOL about in this thread but my favorite is the OP's statement of "if" the Canes lose to UF next season as if that's a question. The Canes will be absolutely dominated and blown out by UF next season. What could possibly lead any rationally thinking human being to think otherwise?

So we're back to rooting for losses. Wonderful.
For some yes. It’s a rinse repeat process. But honestly if Richt can’t sustain success here. Ima start questioning us as a program in modern day college football with the money/ resources the big dawgs generate. It always was but Is becoming more and more a biz. And to win big u need a big budget. It will be 20 years..that’s reaching unwanted territory

I agree with you. We’re not winning that game, but you can’t say that here or people miss the point and want to argue the details.

****, they haven’t cared about this program since Terry Porter’s flag hit the turf.

If he had any chance of saving himself, he had to hit on a quarterback in a big way. He completely blew that opportunity and the dirt pile higher every time Malik takes a snap.

Nah. I ain’t doing that anymore because it’s a drag, and it could take 3 years for UM to fire this dude. I’m just hoping he burns completely out and quits. He looks and sounds like a dead man walking at this point.
I was just chatting about that with a friend. I don't think he will choose to take it on the chin for more than one more season. He's too prideful for that. He and his family (sadly) will be the brunt of mean jokes until he's no longer HC and whatever reputation he built prior to coming here, will be destroyed. He's got a huge networth, which is why he was planning on taking time off or retiring from coaching altogether. He can step down tonight without a payout (of course he'll get one) and be completely comfortable.

He's done here and if he hasn't figured it out yet, he will about a week after the NC CHGM. I just don't see him putting up with it when he doesn't need to and it isn't too late to bow out gracefully with a shred of his old reputation in tact. If he loves the school. If he loves his legacy...he will find a graceful exit strategy. It's probably begun already.

He will. We had to give Fat Al a lot of money. We might have to give him even more now. The school is going to want to soften the hit to the wallet.

We suck and they may very well kick our *** next year but let’s slowdown on crowning Mullet and the Turds. They are having a season similar to the one we had last year. No one after the ND game would have said we sucked this bad. The wheels with come off the turds just like they came off of us. They already lost to an overrated UK team at home. Mullet and Mork both suck, just Mullet runs a better offense and Mork is less of a clown as a HC.

Nice analysis,, still tough to walk away if you feel there's unfinished buisness..
