Richt was letting Felder collect free checks

Yeah Bo was a Savage, good genetics. But even at that size, w/o a good college regimen, that won’t mean chit. U go from punking 15-17 yr olds to now having to face 19-23 yr old grown men gaining that grown man strength. No difference than when they get to the NFL; now they gotta step up the S&C game b/c it’s on a different level.

Problem w Gus was he wasn’t getting our boys strong enough to compete w other programs. ****, we were struggling against SSt, doggy. Lol.

Go back to that 01 National Championship game, **** go back to that 00 Sugar Bowl game; Vilma had a TE coming straight at him. What did he do? Stopped blood dead center and popped the chit outta him.
D Morgan had, I think it was Copeland, but anyways, Dan hit him and Copeland went backwards.

That’s what we’re missing. That type of S&C. We got guys that can’t wrap up w arm tackles and bouncing off of anyone coming full speed down at them. I’m not used to seeing that.

Bama defense had problems tackling Lamb for a while in the game lol

That's not even a rumor, Mark is the one who said that they were using 8 when I think 12 or 16 were allowed.
You are correct, but TBH, there is no limit in number of practices. Most coaches with fire in their bellies use the numbers you mentioned.

Gus had Homer putting DL on their backs.

I thought we made some progress under Gus. We didn't seem to get pushed around a lot anymore (not counting OL). Still some room for improvement though as the OL still go no push consistently. Hopefully a guy like Hester can take us to that next level.

At least one pro team apparently has interset in Gus

I dont want to make excuses for the man, because last season and some other aspects of his tenure were unacceptable...but, as a man, at some point, you just get tired. He had been at it for a long time...no breaks.

I am sure he had good intentions here, but this job is labor intensive. Its why a lot of the previous head coaches haven't succeeded. This job is a LOT of work. You need to be grinding like a young Urban Meyer to be successful here. Straight up, our previous four head coaches are lazy by the standard that needs to be met. It is what it is.

That not only falls on the HC, but the rest of the staff, too. This place needs guys that are first in the office, last to leave, don't like sleep, etc.

Wouldn't shock me if Richt got back into coaching after a year or two. End up at Georgia State or something. That Frank Solich / Bob Davie route at a school that doesn't require a fraction of the grind.

But yeah, his time here was that of an old man clearly needing to be put out to pasture. Ain't no country for old men, in South Florida.

I hope he turns Florida A&M into an FCS juggernaut 3-4 years down the road.

If there's any truth to the rumor we didn't use all of our practices before the bowl game, it seems like not working was the rule more than it was the exception.
It is true. I don’t understand only using 8 out of 15 practices. That’s insane. Do most or all P5 programs use all 15? I don’t have a clue.

To me its important to have a good s&c but shouldn't it be on the players too? Dog that Bo Scarbrough cat was a monster in HS he didnt even need a coach for that **** foreal. Recruit those big savages man

It really isn't that simple.

Bama is getting those savages. And THEN they're turning them into monsters in their S&C factory, which is considered the best in the sport.

Bama is still going to be getting those savages even if we also start getting those dudes. And they'll still beat us if we have a crap S&C program, because Bama's will still be top notch. It's the +1 they're always going to possess if we don't match the S&C.

It's more than just "recruit better guys." The margin of error is SO SMALL in college football and the top teams (Clemson, OSU, Bama) take any edge they can get. If we don't do the same, it won't matter when we play them on Saturdays, because they'll still be doing stuff we don't do.

The S&C hire is the most important hire Manny can make -- moreso than OC and DC. It's crystal clear.

With young, energetic, knowing the city, and $8 you can buy a milkshake at Mark Light.

All Manny has done so far is fire a bunch of coaches (something every single head coach failure that we have had has done) and skeptics are jumping on board.

Somebody still needs to explain how Manny is a better candidate than Randy was in 2006. I don't get it.

Randy Shannon and Manny Diaz are very different people with polar opposite personalities. Manny is more more analytical and has the kind of personality that you want to represent your organization while Shannon never seemed to really have the kind of personality that would you would want as the CEO of your organization

Straight up, Felder didn’t do much if, anything.
The only guy that Love to work out, and it was obvious, was Homer. I’m pretty sure Felder wasn’t there most of the time because Homer was in the weight room for like three hours! LOL
