It feels like Blake is signaling the need for changes (new oc along with others such as ol and qb coach). Richt has made it fairly clear that he does not want to change anything on offense and it’s an execution problem. Who wins? Blake or Richt?

And if richt says no can’t Blake just fire who he wants and make richt coach with whoever he replaces them with? I understand that would create a toxic situation but at some point Blake needs to assert himself. In my opinion if nothing changes or if richt hires a yes man Blake needs to go for having no control of his football program.

Blake didn’t know Diaz was leaving until boosters reached a fever pitch to counteroffer Temple.

He is a clueless yes man for the BoT
He isn’t asserting anything

This is who we need giving orders to Flake and Mork

The problem is the buyout.

BOT could care less if he fires Richt. They know that there is more than enough justification to do so. Also, the Athletic department is going to lose $5M to $10M in non-renewed season tickets next year. THAT is something they do care about!

Am not sure that they would agree to a buyout, however.

Do you know what that is?

Asking for myself.

I'm not talking about firing richt yet. Keep him on as the HC. Hire an OC and tell the oc to fire and/or hire anyone he wants on the offensive side of the ball. Tell Richt to either support the new OC or to just be a lameduck Head Coach. When his buyout is low enough just fire him. You can also tell the new oc and co-dc's that there's advancement opportunities if their units perform.

I get that this is out of left field and creates a toxic coaching staff but we have to force his hand.

No idea.

If they fire him soon, then it was probably $5M or less. They are now going to lose at least $5M in 2019 season ticket sales. If the buyout is comparable, then fire Richt and hire an NFL coach.

If the "buyout" is 2-3 seasons of salary, then it might be best to have him implode next year and see if he quits. He may quit because his legacy today is in shambles, and his legacy next year will be an "ignited zeppelin".

Well, Blake's background is selling tickets . . . it's what he knows.

Richt wins. He doesn’t have to do anything Blake wants him to do.
By Blake’s tweet is obvious he is not going to fire him.....so what can he do if Richt doesn’t do anything he wants ?

He can definitively fire Richt. The problem hinges on whether the BOT allows him to do so.

Another valid point made by another poster is whether Blake can fire Richt's assistants.

Blake needs to "go Wall Street on this cat". Fire the son and if the contract prevents Blake from being able to fire the son, then leak to the press that you tried. Tell the Herald that UM tried to fire Jon and Richt blocked the move. This city will make Jon's life "****".

I think that Blake’s tweet showed he has no intention to fire Richt right now.
So he has zero leverage over Richt to get him to do anything.
Unless he grows a pair and does it.

I think the BOT has the CFO's office and Legal running a cost/benefit analysis on the Contract.

If the PV of forsaken season ticket sales per annum exceed the "buyout", then Richt is history. Golden, Shannon and Coker gave them the perfect comparable. They know how low season ticket sales will go and can also model how many seasons it takes to recoup the lost sales. The curve will have a 0.95 R^2, which culminates in a highly accurate IRR/NPV assessment.
