Richt vs App State 11/9/2013

Couple of things to consider. 1) We had extraordinarily conservative play calling that year and a couple years around it, i.e. run it up the middle every first down, without fail, for a 1 yard gain. 2) We had a head coach in his first year with the team, with all of the previous coaches recruits. 3) We didn't have FBS scholarships to compete with depth. We did hold Georgia decently in the first half until we ran out of steam due to that lack of depth.

Excited for the fight guys, I expect it to be a good one.

enjoy being treated like a roll of tissue as we wipe our asses with you.

All this talk on here about app and strategy and none of us brought it up that richt played them 3 years ago? Lmao

They were still FCS then, so I'm not sure how comparable it really is.
Seeing as how many of the players we are playing tomorrow are seniors and were on that team that got beat by Georgia I would say it is at least more relevant than people talking about app beating Michigan like people have been saying back in 2007

They didn't all of a sudden become better when NCAA let them be fbs

Actually, yes, yes they did. You can't possibly be dense enough to think that a team who lost to NC A&T and Charleston Southern is on par with an 11-2 FBS team. Furthermore, App beat Georgia Southern that year 34-17 and Southern went on to beat Florida. It's all very confusing I know but the transitive property doesn't work in football. One year is different from the next, yet you are saying that a 2013 team that finished 4-8 is no better than an 11-2 team who statistically had a Top 10 defense last season.

The only people talking about App beating Michigan are you guys and the fugging media. No one at App cares about the **** as they know it isn't relevant to this years team anymore than what Richt did while coaching at Georgia in 2013.

So you're telling me that the VERY INSTANT they were declared FBS instead of FCS they became better?.

What changed in terms of their team that off season? Other than the league change? That's what I said.

They were a really good FCS team before the switch now they are an average fbs team. The division that they play in doesn't change the player personnel of the team. They are the same team as they were in FCS or at least a make up of that. Yes they added more schollys

I'm not saying they aren't better now than they are then I said that year when they went to fcs they don't instantly become better just by switching leagues

Not to mention you never answered me earlier. You guys have no reason to be optimistic for this game. You didn't score in two and a half quarters and ot against Tennessee, 5-26 on third downs (2-13 against old dominion lmao) and 160 rushing yards to old dominion.

I know you're a Homer and I respect that, I am too sometimes. But just give us one reason to believe app won't get embarrassed tomorrow and I'll be impressed

Sounds like Goldie/Coley & the bubble screen.

I will not argue that one bit, but amazingly it's better than it has been in the past. I and everyone else in the stands knew it was a draw play every first down, no matter what.

That Georgia team had NOTHING on offense other than Gurley and Murray.

WR's were terrible.

Georgia puts up 536 yards of offense.

I wouldn't take much from the 2013 game. It was an uncharacteristically bad year for App St. They lost to Montana by 24, Samford by 24, and Furman by 17.

Georgia was only up 14-6 at halftime before waking up, which shows why you shouldn't take any team lightly.

Agree. I'm excited to see how our freshmen LBs handle your run game and the road atmosphere.
