Recruiting is the life's blood of college football.

Yes, when you do it the way he did it.......which wasn't by chasing after all the national parade All Americans.

Seriously, people need to read more on how this program was built. It wasn't from hiring a bunch of James Coley types and landing 20 five stars a year. It was from scouting the local area for the most athletic, most competitive kids, and teaching them the fundamentals of the game, adding a few key OOS kids at positions like OL and QB.

That's because the 4 & 5*s were in our backyard...this program was built on local 4 & 5*s, NOT the Crawfords & Knowles of the world. Guys like Bratton & Highsmith were the 5*s of their day, those guys looked at UM like recruits look at FIU these days. Matter of fact, JJ took some local recruiting hits His 2nd year, because He lost some hold-overs from the Schnellenberger staff...so much so, that He had to SETTLE for Eric Metcalf, a "national parade All American".

Mark was not my choice but he is family and our coach now. His staff is his to pick and live with. The big one, and the only one that will really matter in the end, is DC. The right DC restores our old defense and local recruiting on defense takes off. Pick the wrong guy how in any way reminds ANYONE of Al and Mark is cooked. We will continue to fail at recruiting on defense and therefore the field.

LMFAO! @ the "we don't want no recruiter" brigade. What, ya'll thought Richt wanted Rocker because He can coach?...BWAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAHAAA!!!
Keep James Coley Baez and Ice then ****. Worked out mad fine

Baez?!...you mean to tell me your blood pressure will shoot up if we keep Baez?!...LMFAO! @ YOU!!!

But all jokes aside my man, tell me, how long have you been a Canes fan...exactly?
Because if Baez gets you this wound up, then apparently you haven't been a Canes fan long enough,to know that Corey Johnson was JJ's right-hand man at UM, and Pete Martinez was Butch's right-hand man at UM.
