Probably helps him with his ACCN commitments to do it on a Thurs night. They have been doing on-site broadcasts for their Saturday night gamesFeel like it’s almost disrespectful to do it against such a weak opponent. He deserves to be honored in a packed house. Love Richt. Great dude.
Why do some continue to post negative comments? What is the point?great...honoring richt in front of 35000 fans max.
Are his afflictions in the terminal stage???He doesn’t have much time left.
Shannon only made 1 million a yr for 4yrs....Love this for Coach Richt. Such a shame we got him so late in his career and dwindling health. Still won games for us.
Canes should have pivoted to Richt after Butch instead of Coker. He obviously would have won in 2001 and likely 2002 as well and worst case scenario the next 15 years would have been Georgia type results - winning 75% of his games, conference titles, and right on the cusp of championships.
Obvious roadblocks were that Georgia had just hired him in December 2000 and Butch didn't leave until almost the end of January 2001. Still think he would have jumped if we called. Miami was the highest paid coaching gig in America including Shannon's first couple years. Richt is loyal and didn't entertain our calls in 2010 but I bet he would have in 2001.
Yep Shannon was the first coach in CFB to make $1M per year.Shannon only made 1 million a yr for 4yrs....
Just my sense of things. His condition has severely worsened in my opinion based on what I saw this weekend curing the ACC ESPN coverage. Are his afflictions in the terminal stage???
There are a lot of deceases (other than Parkinson's) that don't give much warning before they take you out... we're all on the clock.
Scheduling thingFeel like it’s almost disrespectful to do it against such a weak opponent. He deserves to be honored in a packed house. Love Richt. Great dude.
Guess he will be skipping The Huddle
