RICHT & the OFFENSE for next year

No doubt about it Malik is limited both physically ( primarily stature & brute ruggedness ) & skill wise ( Accuracy / Decision Making / Illongated Throwing Motion ). Being in the same room with him for a moment will tell you that much in terms of physical gifts.


I also saw 12 save CMR's *** time & time again with his feet & sheer will. Unreal determination & heart from that kid. Yes he finished the last quarter of the season feeling like ground beef.

12 just like 15 the prior season was put in position to fail time & time again during our 17 campaign. All the while expected to succeed regardless of deficiencies in the route tree, protection scheme, poor or no hot ready at the line...Zero adaptation to a particular players skill set. Square peg + Round hole = no problem 😳

Again, I really hope our engine simply hit the rev limiter early & often. I love Coach Richt & having spent extensive time professionally with our beloved Canes & staff they are pure gentleman of class. Real Leaders & molders of Men. Makes me proud to be a Hurricane.

But Miami ( MotherFu#king) Hurricane Football in the modern era was built on offensive innovation & defensive intensity / passion. Since the onset we had to get creative & live on the leading edge with our built in Athletic superiority at key positions. We were built on maximizing our strengths and masterfully masking our deficiencies.

This ^ last bit is my major area of concern.

If your expecting Miami to beat the Southern powers that be at their own game... well it kinda ends up like that 05 Peach Bowl type of scenario. On Repeat

I’ve been rewatching some of our games from last year and Richt would have appeared a lot more creative and innovative had Malik been able to hit open WR.

Even in our wins, we left a ton of chunk plays out there. This accounts for not only his accuracy but his decision making as well.

No play caller is perfect but as I’ve posted before, you put Malik on Oklahoma last year with the great Lincoln Riley and I guarantee you that they struggle as well.

We have a lot more weapons and a better OL going into next year so I expect improvement but we are limited till we find an accurate and smart QB.

The current state of the program, improved recruiting, family culture, community participation, IPF $1MM of his own, and yet to some "fans" they just cannot see the big picture and prefer to bytch and moan.

You’re right, Richt is a great OC. That is why our offense regressed this past season during conference play. In addition, he is such a great OC that when he stopped coaching the offense at UGA they scored more points and gained more yards.

Richt is so great, he doesn't need ANY help. That is why he hired zero coaches who can help him on that side and decided to give his son a job. No other individual, especially a coach, could possibly help him since he is a OT VIII Offensive Coordinator.

It is funny that same QB who can't execute a pass on a regular basis set a record for TDs. In the future, when your QB struggles so much, don't make him the focal point of the offense or don't throw it so much.

most of you guys are right, but remember going into 17 season we were all saying we were a year away, then we reel off all those W's and we lost our heads thinking maybe ??? Richt has been cuffed since he got here with lame quarterbacks, but he made the most of it. Now having Perry for a year to work with i expect we will see a big improvement on O, teams will have to defend the whole field, and we have dudes all over the place, just need a good delivery system which Perry should bring. We are sick at RB, WR, TE, o-line should be better, and i expect to see a more pro style with 2 backs which i love, think UGA. We will not have trouble puttin up points, i'm more concerned about keeping points OFF the board, Manny seems to get out-schemed after half when opponent makes halftime adjustments. I do love Manny's style of play though, he lets his dogs hunt, he just needs to put a dog on that drag route across the middle, man that killed us on 3rd downs. Hopefully we fix this shortage up front where we can have some sort of effective rotation, that will make a huge difference. I think this year, for the first time since MR got here, we are close to having all the pieces of the puzzle, so lets start grading from here, you really cant neg the man with what big fat al left him to work with

OL woes are magnified in the red zone. I’m expecting a big uptick this year. Our guys had zero weight room training from previous regime, a dearth of technique coaching, and let’s face it the caliber of player needed improvement too.
