With all of the improvements on the offense side of the ball along with an experienced QB battling 3 young but unproven QB's Richt should have a field day every game. This offense should average at least 40 points a game next year. and If the offense doesn't then PASTOR RICHT needs to fire himself as OC. If Oklahoma, Oklahoma St, Penn St, Ohio St, Memphis, FAU, and UCF can do it them UM can do it too.

Our biggest problem on offense was in the Red Zone. We were pretty good between the 20s, but if we didn't hit a big play we were atrocious. With 2 TEs, a FB, 2 RBs and several WRs to go along with the likes of Dallas, Homer, Richards, Thomas, Harley and Cager... If we can't figure out how to get the RXZ % higher, we got a serious problem

I think there's no question we're loaded of offense, but....

Richt only averaged over 30 pts per game in 1 of the 6 seasons he was OC at Georgia from 2001-2006 (32 pts in 2002).

Georgia averaged over 30 pts in 7 of the 8 seasons when Mike Bobo was the OC from 2007-2014.

I think we need an OC now, and will get one after this season.

Richt is who he is. That is not going to change. We could have dropped 60 on ND. Seriously, everything was clicking that night. What did Richt do, call the dogs off leading 34-0....early in the 3rd Quarter. We won 41 - 8. Should have been 62 -8, but we walk with the Lord.

Don't get your hopes up. The next OC will be Jon Richt.

Richt made his bed when he took on OC responsibilities and gifted promotions to Brown and Dugans (fake coordinator titles).

He’s gotta be the real deal as a play caller in 2018.

Richt will be the equalizer to all the talent we will have. Give these weapons to a real coordinator and we’re blowing teams out the water, but let’s expect those nail biters against uva and Pitt.

Why does everyone keep saying/suggesting this? There's no effing way MR hires a full time offensive coordinator. He wouldn't have come here as head coach if this was the route it was going to go. He wants to be the OC for better or worse.

We won't average over 40 pts a game, that's horribly unrealistic. Only a couple teams in Miami history have done that.

I do expect the best offense we've had at Miami since 2002. It's all about that OL.

That may be the case. I wouldn't argue aginst that, I'm just guessing. My thought is, how many years does he get before he's pressured to get an OC like he was at Georgia? I think 3 is enough.

Richt is 58. He's not producing any new innovative offensive schemes at this point. If the offense under performs this year, he'd be smart to realize his window is closing to win a NC and he'll listen to that pressure.

At this point, I think his timeline at Miami is half what is was at Georgia. He got 6 years of play calling at GA, I think he gets 3 at Miami. He got 15 years to get a NC at Georgia, I think he gets 7-8 at Miami.

It all comes down to the QB and OL. We still need vast improvement in these two areas. Rosier made some plays last year but he was way too inconsistent to be relied upon game in and game out. If he starts, we're screwed. In addition, the OL was average and frankly got manhandled at times last year. If they don't improve, the offense will continue to struggle.

If we have fans that couldn’t see play calling was handicapped by Rosier... oh wait, we do have those fans. For half the season it looked like half the field was off limits. The second half we saw why, and teams figured it out. If we get good QB play we will score a lot of points.

I'm on record many times saying that CMR needed to hire a top notch OC. His offense is "simple and plain, MF him and John Wayne". This offense needs an injection of excitement, motion and multiple sets, attacking all areas of the field.

Richt wants to build a SEC style team- run first, play tough D. Problem is that SEC schools drop bags and take the best players that fit the SEC style. So you are left with a team doing its best impression of a SEC team, but without the personnel you need to pull that off. We keep hoping Felder will do what the last S&C coach couldn't do, but we will keep waiting every year for the OL to be as strong as UGA or Bama.

The thing Miami still has is speed, pure filthy speed. We saw the dramatic improvement on D last year, just by emphasizing speed. And that is with a mediocre DC. Richt has to mirror that on offense, and go full Air Raid. We finally have a stable of qbs who have the accuracy to pull it off and with Lo in the backfield, he'll absolutely destroy defenses with the running lanes he'll see. It doesn't matter if Richt brings in an OC, the issue is he is as married to his sec style as Al Golden was to the 3-4.

Bigtime CFB programs do not have the coaches son on them anymore. They have expensive proven professionals. we are not there yet

Anyone watch the Eagles QB run RPO in championship game, they did run motion a few times but nothing real fancy, just execution.

OL was rock solid. They lost Peters and put in some random Hawaiian dude at LT and he held his own. RPO works well when you have a great run blocking OL, which we don't. Our OL is actually pretty good at pass blocking though, which is why it makes all the sense in the world to go Air Raid.
