- In his last 9 games vs Power 5 teams, Mark Richt is 2-7.
- Over his last 12 games, he’s 5-7.
- It is year 3.
- During Al Golden’s 4-season tenure, he had a 3-game losing streak three times.
- Mark Richt already has losing streaks of 3,3, and 4 games.
- In the last 18 years, Richt is the only UM coach to pull that off.
- Not even Coker, Shannon, and Golden dunk to levels of losing streaks the likes of which Richt has already reached.
- Richt’s offense just played back-to-back games against defenses ranking an average of #55.
- His team scored 0 points in the second half of these games.
- During this 3-game losing streak, Miami has scored point totals of 13,14, and 12.
- This is Miami’s worst point output over a 3-game span in 6 years.
- Local idiots and media members blame the personnel and talent.
- On Miami’s final drive, only 9 of the 11 players on the field for the offense we’re 4 or 5 stars.
- This same argument was brought up by media members like Barry Hackson during Al Golden’s crumbling.
- Most of the guys they disparaged are now in the NFL.
As you can see, Mark Richt is reaching new lows for this progrum. That is saying something, especially when you consider the 3 guys who had the position before him.
Richt’s only recourse is to be a man of honor, integrity, and morals — he must resign at the end of the year. The nickname Richtirement has never been more fitting. Disgraced and fired from his previous long-tenured job, he decided to come down here because he got to call plays, something UGA took from him while slapping his wrists and sternly saying “no!” Well, not only can we now see why they removed those responsibilities, but we can also see why he was fired.
Richt coming down here to call plays was how he chose to spend retirement. It was like a Dr opening up a diner. He got one last hoorah, did something crazy, and had some fun. But it’s over now. He got it out of his system and realized all the food he serves is poison and he doesn’t know how to cook.
Richt has earned enough money in this game. He’s coached enough seasons. If he is a religious, family man, he’ll spare himself and his family and walk away before things get ugly. No need to have the fan base of your alma mater turn on you. And no need to collect checks when if you’re honest with yourself, you just can’t cut it. I hope Richt does the honorable, Godly thing and hangs em up following this season. Go travel with your family and play golf. Leave with some dignity. Mark Richt has to ask himself whether or not he wants to be on a cruise or a banner.
