Richt needs to run Perry

From what we've all seen, does he really strike you as a duel threat QB? He's a pocket passer and honestly IMO he's only considered a dual threat because of the color of his skin if we're being honest. Dual threat is Lamar Jackson... as a D coordinator I would not be "threatened" by Perry's running ability.

It is funny that all the years of crying about not having black QBs, either called mobile or now dual threat, we finally get some and they run like Bernie. J 12, Brad, Perry .... Rosier got the best wheels but he is a baseball player. @gogetta4 is right, the white boy is better runner. Do we have our crap together or what?

When Perry widens his base he gives the defender so much time to wrap up. His move to break away and run is so easy to see and gives someone plently of time to get him.

I haven't seen a get off as slow as him since Kaaya.
Bernie Kosar says, "Hold my F-ing Beer"

LoL, that's on perry not making good choices, have you ever seen perry fake a handoff, pull it and run it, thats part of why he keeps getting benched, d-co's already know he not doing that just yet but we'll see. You gotta give rosier credit for being a running threat, cant say dual threat cause nobody worried about him passing.

Perry plays scared, doesn't prepare himself well, and stays suspended. Malik is tough and never suspended, but isn't talented enough to overcome the OL limitations and push the ball down the field; what can Richt do in this predicament?

It's hard to start the R-freshman who always gets suspended and doesn't prepare himself to lead the team, even if he has more talent than the R-senior who carries himself with maturity and is always ready to play; what message would that send the team if he did? You don't have to be a superstar, but you have to not be suspended, know the calls, practice well, and be able to execute all facets of the offense. We don't have that in one QB at the moment but I hope Jarren can be that guy next season.

[]__[] aren't that far away considering how awful the QB, OL, ST play has been this season. Next year we'll be set at RB, FB, TE and WR when, hopefully, a more mature and physically ready J. Williams can take the helm at QBa and provide some leadership. That leaves the OL, where we'll have to recruit well and develop our emerging talent. So yea, bring on Kelly Bryant for competition and flip a QB in 2019 who sees our potential.

The sky isn't falling and we'll be much better next season, for sure.

I believe Perry has some physical skills. Not elite but adequate. But, I believe his problem is that he is not a smart qb. He has trouble reading defenses, he panics when facings a bull rush, and he often audibles at the wrong times. All our currents QBs are not capable of taking us out of this 15 year funk. Many posters continue to say qb does not have to lead team in order to be a great team. Tell that to Tua at Bama, Lawrence at Clemson and new qb at n Dame. Listed are 3 top ranked teams.

Actually my post is referring to whatever Richt does. I agree pretty much what you said about Perry.

Weldon is built better to run, yes.. kosi is built like jacory. But doesn’t have a feel for running the football. So what the OP is asking for is nonsense lol. He can pick up yards. But pretending as if perry doesn’t run the read in our offense is wrong. It’s about the willingness to keep it. Perry doesn’t seem to have they feel. But it’s built in

I think ppl see “dual threat” and automatically think a kid can “run the ball”. Imo there should be 3 category for QBs:
pocket passer(Rosen kaaya)
Mobile (Deshaun Watson/ russel Wilson)
Dual threat( cam/ Lamar)

I’d put a kid like Perry under mobile
If he had better awareness like when to run or know when the pocket collapses I’d put him between mobile / dt

Again read the OP and if you could please tell me when Richt has called a true option like he did for Rosier against BC, then we could hold judgement. Fair?

Rosier is the worst runner on the team. His only success outside of BC was a QB draw. Rosier is better built for that, Perry is suited for the option to get to the outside. There’s a reason he was the number 3 rated duel threat coming out of high school.
He’s not in Kansas (High School) anymore, things are a bit different in College. Nkosi can’t get away with winging it and calling his own plays like in high school and he has to learn the plays and read the Defense. He’d get killed running the option! I personally think the kid has a bit of air in his head. He’s not the solution at Qb and it showed during that final drive vs Mighty Duke. He has no sense of urgency! Flaco was on slow motion like he had all the time in the world. Fock 🤦🏾‍♂️the Anger Sharks are swimming in my head. I hope he plays better.

Are you forgetting thats how Rosier was against FSU and got extremely lucky. We ran the ball with under a minute left at our own 42. Think about that for a second. Feel free to watch the drive again but it was two amazing individual efforts, one by Homer who broke a huge tackle at the LOS and was able to get a first down and Berrios did the same thing or else were settling for a 50 yard FG to tie the game.

It’s how they are taught. I bet we don’t know how to run a 2 minute offense, that’s on the coach. Stupid play it cool BS.

He did to Jordan twice, and both times were on the money, absolute beautiful passes, and he dropped it. Both were at critical times and both plays should’ve been made.
I believe one went through his hands on a third down and was a pick unfortunately vs Duke.

No bro. It’s diff when your only down 3 and on the edge of legit field goal range. I get what your saying but it’s diff situations. I don’t remember the exact time we had to start that drive against FSU but it was executed perfectly. Against Duke I believe he took a couple sacks on that last drive. I’m not gonna bash the kid but they are 2 totally diff situations

I concur that effort and luck got us a win vs FSU last year, but let’s keep the focus on Nkosi. He has not learned the play book, he has no sense urgency, can’t read a defense usually looks like a deer caught in headlights. We got fooled, hosed, tricked bamboozled by recruiting specialists at 247 and a great highlight film of Nkosi winging it. I’m just waiting for the last two games and maybe a bowl game to see if Jarren is given the chance to start cause remember he played (well handed off the ball to the running back a few times at the end of a game) and can only play 3 more games and not lose a year of eligibility.

Can we please for the love of god actually run read options. Read the **** D End, if he crashes hold it, if not hand it off. I learned that **** when I was 8. Why is everything always predetermined. Not once did he call a play where Perry can showcase his running ability. I guess one can hope.

It’s weird how awkward Perry looks running. I saw him in camp one time and he looked confident and very fluid moving in the pocket. He made defenders miss in small spaces and separated from defenders easily. Since he has been playing he looks unsure, slow and has very little wiggle. I am know sure if Richt beat it in his head not to run or what but Perry using his legs as part of his offense was something I thought would have been a no brainer. BTW, I agree by now, you would expect our QB’s to have and understand heir cues as to when to keep, run or even throw.

You look like that when your not confident in what your seeing. Or u predetermine where the ball is going pre snap and dont react to the D post snap. Hopefully another offseason the light clicks on. He’s onnly a RS Fresh so I’m not writing him off yet...but this will be year 3
