Richards

Richards is pedestrian. Struggles to separate against tight coverage, doesn't fight for the ball, can't be trusted during 50/50 balls.
Early in the game he had a chance to go up and make a big play and he waited for the ball to land in his hands instead of fighting for it.

The scout assessment of him that I saw was spot-on. He only excels versus off coverage. Get in his face and he's done.

I said this last year and was skewered here for it.

Pretty sure Brooklyndee posted on the gameday board that Richards was sidelined because he went off on Rosier early in the game and/or at halftime. Supposedly, other players were getting on Rosier, too. TIFWIW.
Dog when he ran that first TD no one sat next to him

The play Hightower made that play for his td and that is what I expect from Ahmmon.

I call bullshyt on that. Zero chance Richt singles Richards out when other players were doing the same.

He was hurt. He's no different than Duke Johnson, Stacey Coley, Aldarius Johnson, etc. Always hurt.

Has anyone thought this maybe we aren't that good of a football team.we see a lot of smoke and mirrors but still same result.now you know why our practices were closed and not open.or no stats after scrimmage s there weren't any to give.cmr is opening a used car lot.aka golden

I said the same thing. AR should have went up and got that ball instead of waiting on it to come down. The DB never even saw the ball until it hit him in the facemask

I agree that AR needed to go up for the ball, but didnt that play look like PI to anyone else?

He's soft and runs routes with poor technique as demonstrated in the Matt Waldman RSP videos. WRs who rely on athletic ability only will always struggle against decent corners.

Richards and Cager are both victims of Richt's reliance on old-school isolation routes because they struggle with physical coverage 1on1.

Rosier was awful, the receivers couldn't get open quick enough. But we can bring in the # 2, #3 or even beam back Vinny T in his prime, and we aren't going anywhere we didn't last year with this O-line.

Pretty basic O-line stuff: If you;re a guard and no one is on your nose or outside gap, when you come out of you stance you at least hand check to help the guy inside then if the stunt isn't coming stay engaged with the double team. Guys weren't even turning their heads to look, just watching that gap for the loop stunt that never came as the D lineman or blitz ran the A gap.

LSU'a Q beat us in his first start because his O-line protected him, and he had time to pick us apart.

Read on TOS. Richards was benched for getting in rosiers face about his play..don’t shoot the messenger..zero idea if true or not

Outside of Thomas, LSU did a good job at covering our receivers. Cager, Richards, Ingram, were rarely open. Everything was contested. I don’t know if it’s the play calling or our routes.

If we throw under deep pass into double coverage....

You must have been watching the peace Bowl. LSU could not cover all wide receivers consistently. Rosier ******* sucks. It's as simple as that. Not one coach or player on this offense will look good until Rosier is on the bench

You forgot about Jordan. He was consistently open, but Rosier couldn't seem to get the ball within 10 feet of him.
Dude people were running open everywhere , brevin stayed open in the third qt.

Again, I was at the game so I didn’t see everything that happened but from what I saw from our receivers there was little separation. Particularly, from the deep linear passes.

It’s true you put Your hands on Richards and he’s going to tap out... every team got the report on him. They play off everybody else and just press Richards it’s a wrap.

Hightower is out there making **** near impossible catches with dudes fckn holdinv him as a true freshman !! No excuses that’s fckn Heart!

I would start Cager, Hightower, and JT until proven otherwise.

Being at the game the receivers were open all night, Rosiers gotta go. Scrambled when he didn’t have to and every pass floated, no zip or accuracy. OLine held up ok, not dominant but did a decent job. On defense Dean got worked all night, and interior dline got smacked around early
exactlywhat isaw as well.

the offensive line did not play as bad as Rosier made them look. There were times he stepped up in the pocket and either did not throw or his mechanics were so bad the throws were errant.

rosier makes the entire team look bad. his play magnifies our weaknesses in all 3 phases

Gerald Willis the only one in the interior that showed up out the gate... Ford is terrible, he has absolutely negative zero acceleration off of the line. The ball snaps and hes stuck in the mud, has no get off to create a push.

Tito aside from the encroachment penalty was a ghost the entire game... we are ****ed at NT the rest of the season, Nesta Silvera needs to start next to Willis the rest of the season.

Richards needs to play more physical , it’s like he doesn’t want to be out there. That play where he was guarded by Kristian Fulton in the first quarter he had an opportunity to catch the ball over him and him and didn’t even attempt to jump to catch the **** ball. Showed literally no effort there, that’s not good enough period
