Richards career as a player is over..

he was pretty lively on the sidelines... didnt look injured to me. Sounds to me like this is a case where doctors are conflicting about the injury and the team's stance is to hold him out for liability reasons until there is consensus. VERY similar to chris bosh from what I see.
That’s a dumb statement.

You do realize you can have an injured neck and move and even jump, but probably shouldn’t be in the line of fire of 250 lb linebackers running full speed at you to drive you into the ground?

I’ve had a neck injury, had artificial disc put in, I can do almost everything I did before with the exception per the doctor of NOT PLAYING FOOTBALL (or other things like running into brick walls).

Just because he has a neck injury doesn’t mean he can’t do most things. Don’t get people’s inability to think on basic ****.

1. @Cane Dynasty

2. @Peter Ariz

3. @UMFarArcher

Jealous?

1. You'll never have the stud reputation of Cane Dynasty, who has back troubles toting his significant package, and who knows a Football god when he sees one.

2. You'll never have the football knowledge of Pete, much less his grace on a dance floor doing the hot Latin dances.

3. And you'll never experience having an action figure modeled after you like I have.

Face it - we're simply not interested at all in Pre-Op Trannies and Thai girly boys you seem to prefer.

Is AR82’s neck issue from an injury, or a recently discovered congenital condition?

I remember a TE named Chris C. Jones in the early Butch era. Good looking player, showed potential. Had a neck stinger that wouldn’t heal, and MRIs reveal a narrowing of the spinal column in his neck. Immediately done with football. The wrong hit and he could be dead.

Watch him try to play at another program and/or declare if medically cleared. Remember when both Malik Young and the OL kid who had career enders, there were pressers from the team almost immediately.

Moreover, he's been on an exercise bike all through fall practice, had no surgery, and has been present through all team activities.

Finally, I currently have a herniated disk which I have been dealing with for a while and there is no way in **** I would be jumping into people and running around like he was, lol. I woulda rolled into a fetal position at first contact. All that being said if it is spinal-related, it is debilitating, so I hope he can live a happy healthy life.

To me, this looks like there is a medical dispute involved, and via twitter, it doesn't look like he's sticking around to watch any more FSU-Miami games in person in the future. It just seems different, and all CD's bull**** the past few months is the smoke to the fire of that.

Talk to an actual MD. Herniated discs usually don’t prevent you from most athletic sports, with the possible exception of collision sports.

Also comparing a herniated disc, which is a fairly common spine condition, with what’s possibly a very different spine injury. Yet he can still jump around. Spinal injuries do not necessarily prevent you from partaking in many physical activities, but usually they prevent you from collision sports activities. No offense, you really don’t know what you’re talking about, and you’re comparing apples to oranges anyway. For all we know you just have a very low tolerance to pain.

Could be a lot of things... most congenital type of things are discovered incidentally. I know someone who had an MRI discover they had a malformation in the cerebellum that herniated through the base of the skull. Doesn’t bother them at all, but doctors said specifically could not play football.

Recently discovered and lmao at this made up on-going beef. Little bro wouldn’t be coming by if that was the case.

A run of bad luck with neck injuries recently - Malek Young last year, Richards and Wilder this year.

Hopefully Wilder can still play in the future, but anything to do with the spinal column should always be taken seriously.

At any rate, best of luck to Richards in all his other pursuits in life.

He's prepared to get his degree as he said. Sorry for him, but he'll be prepared for the next chapter of his life. Good Luck Ahmon

He has friends on the team and I can see him out there cheering for them but no way his brother would come here if his relationship with Richt is bad. And yeah...he probably would stop coming to events.
I don't know what to make of the alleged conflict between AR and CMR. I'm just wondering why AR tweeted "Last time mixed emotions. " Is he not going to be with the team anymore? On the sidelines? I hope he stays involved with his brothers (teamates) and maybe gets into coaching to stay connected to the game.

I can truly say I had tears in my eyes when I heard the news of his career ending injury.

richt said **** help out in coaching and stay around the program. i assume it'll be the last time as a player **** get to do that.

Kid needs to stay in Dugans hip pocket. Every single quality he possessed on the field will translate over into coaching (if he chooses it). Tough. Hard working. Smart. High football IQ. Attention to detail. Fiery. Good temperament.

Something just is off about this situation.
I hope this kid didn’t TAKE any advice from Free Agent Management... fam.

Can we stop smacking guys on the helmet to congratulate them !!! This can't help!

You make a great play and come to the sideline you get 15/20/30 smacks on the helmet. Make 3 or 4 good plays in a game and you are well over 50 smacks and close to a 100. Multiply that over the course of a season plus whatever goes on in practice and it adds up to nothing good.

Just stop.

You're a moron if you think you have any medical insight here

This quote from the Miami Herald Barry Jackson, on how Richards potentially got hurt:

A UM source who has spoken to Ahmmon Richards and his family said his career-ending neck injury appeared to trace back to a play earlier in his career when he was blocking and felt numbness in his neck, something that would be especially noticeable to him when lifting weights. He informed UM and was recently sent to two specialists, who advised him to stop playing football
