Rhett Lashlee Interview on Miami and the Offense

Good stuff in the interview.

It sounds like Lashlee is building his own offensive system and will want to have a few years of elite production at Miami to parlay this into a Head Coaching job at Top 25 Power 5 school where he can also use the south Florida ties he is creating to recruit for his future team having demonstrated sustained proof of concept to the kids and parents of south Florida.

Great interview. Rhett is a young, hungry OC with big goals. He's betting on himself to turn around this dead Miami offense/program and will parlay that success into a HC job in 2-3 years.

Obviously knows what he wants in an offense, but doesn't act/sound like he invented football. Very refreshing.

Great interview. I’m so excited about Coach Lashlee. He seems like he’s the complete opposite of Enos. Not just in scheme but demeanor and the way he carries himself. Doesn’t seem like he will be a “my way is the only way” type of coach or the type to blame his players.

He’s going to absolutely kill it here. I just hope we get at least 2-3 seasons out of him before he moves on to a HC gig and that he leaves a capable replacement that can pick up where he leaves off.

A+ hire for Manny.

Speculation is great to keep enthusiasm up. Now we need proof in the pudding. Game one is going to be crucial...

Fair flag early on. We are at a pretty distinct disadvantage compared to many other programs. Rhett has had very little time to install our offense and get to know our players. Here's to hoping he can get it figured out but:

New OC + Transfer QB + New-ish OL + Young WRs + limited time together = massive massive challenge.

I hope he can get it done but being slow out the gate may not be unrealistic here.
