Rex Ryan

Rex Ryan with the IQ of an underpriveleged child of the third world? Not to mention conservative right-wing as F. He was wearing an NYPD hat today... I'm sure he's not racist... lulz

How is this stupid **** not in the red. Neg this stupid ****.

Again, I'm a die hard Jets fan. Rex would be a terrrrrible college coach. He is one of the worst identifiers of talent in the league. He's a good motivator and an above average d-coordinator. His teams never play with fundamentals, and he knows less than zero about the offensive side. I like Rex, but suggesting him b/c he's "cool" and "aggressive" is idiocy.

He's never going to come here BUT he would be amazing because of the following:

@MoveTheSticks: Rex was an easy coach to work with on the personnel side. He just wanted great players, not obsessed with fit... He could adjust his scheme

Again, you are a Cowboy fan. I'm a Jets fan. In the NFL, he has scouts, personnel guys, AND the GM to select the players. And when they had an accountant at GM, their draft choices were ABYSMAL. Rex may want great players, but he sucks at selecting them. And he's even worse at running an offense. Stop picking guys b/c of their "swag" and pick better ACTUAL fits for college football coaches.

Rex Ryan went to two consecutive AFC conference title games in back-to-back seasons with Mark Sanchez as a QB. That's impressive.

Yes, in his first two seasons with the guys that were left for him, which included a half dozen pro bowlers.

Once he had to build up his team, it became a total disaster. His defensive rankings have consistently fallen year to year, and his offenses have always been terrible.

He's a players coach who guys all like, when given an already made, mature, self motivated team can do well. He's a brash version of Coker.

And I loved rex. 2009-10 were awesome. But the wins, defense, and personnel have all steadily declined from day 1 till now.

Rex in 2009 (his first year) was handed a team with 5 pro bowl OL, 3 of whom went to the probowl that year. His NT was a pro bowler. His kickoff and punt returners were probowlers, and his CB is considered to be the 2nd greatest to ever live. Their FB was a long time perennial all pro, and unsurprisingly they led the NFL in rushing and TOP. The team added Braylon Edwards in the middle of that year, and another pro bowl CB The next year.

And when those players deals ended or they retired or their cap numbers swelled, and Rex was charged with bringing his own dudes in, the team slowly and steadily turned to dog ****.

Once Revis left his defenses never sniffed top 5 again. He's a QB killer. I like Rex, but he is far from a great coach, and is a downright terrible CEO

Al Golden is the coach of the Miami Hurricanes................It hurts me to type that ****

Dumbest post of the year. Hope you never need the police who put their life on the line EVERY DAY. What do you do for a living?

I like Rex.

Got nothing to support that except he's light years better than Golden and we're in the coastal. Good enough. I'll take it.

You do realize that he's not the GM. Also, considering he took someone else's players and capitalized says a lot about a coach in the NFL. This wasn't exactly the situation that Coker walked into when he had Butch's players. When you take over a job in the NFL when the previous coach got canned, you're usually looking at a "rebuilding" type of situation.

Except he wasn't rebuilding anything. The 2008 team was 8-8, b/c Favre got hurt. Again, I'm a Jet fan. Follow them as closely as I do the Canes, and I'm telling you he'd be a sub par college coach. He can't tell his *** from his elbow in terms of talent evaluation. Rex was HEAVILY involved in the draft process. Yes, he's "cool". But he's not a great football coach.

Rex Ryan would be better than either a trained chimpanzee or calleja and either of those would be better than Golden. I'd take Ryan over Golden any day.
