Still just the 1st qtr but a few notes:

Amari Carter reminds me of Ray Ray Armstrong. Big hitter playing downhill, but takes bad angles and misses too many tackles in the open field.

Refs allowing UNC to get away with blatant holds. At least two I've seen so far. Shaq was literally tackled from behind on the play before UNCs TD...and before that Patchan was spun around while trying to set the edge on a play that went for big yardage.

Seeing the way we handled (or mishandled) UNCs full house backfield has me a little worried about how we're gonna handle GTs rushing attack. We have to be more disciplined against GT or they'll hurt us.

I don't think we were prepared at all for the option. When UNC put the three backs in the diamond formation with the QB, they were eating us alive. Those type of plays would not of happened with the starting quarterback and is probably why Diaz did not get the defense ready for it. Once we get to GT they will know exactly how to defend the option, we've done it the past 2 years and minimal has changed in that offense in the last 10 years.

I have watched the game 3 times and the conclusion was our LBs were reading the wrong gaps or just sluggish. Safety JJ. Def signal caller was sidelined which fcd up communication. The online is suspect I assume is the biggest question by far or our QB hasn't been calling the correct alignment.

I read that 3 times and have no idea what you are trying to say.

We’ve handled the option pretty well the last couple years .Just think that was a wrinkle that caught us off guard

I'm always worried about GT. Mainly that I will slit my wrists watching ***** **** Paul Johnson's 1932 offense.

We will be fine against GT as long as Mark doesn’t get all hot dog with onside kick. Defending opinion attack is Cane dna.

You think Carter would be better off at linebacker?

I may head to the GT game vs Bowling Green tomorrow since I can take the whole family for about $65.

They can’t even run their offense well this year...so not only more inept in passing than usual, but sloppy pitches and bad blocking in the run game. My coworker’s son is a former Walkon guard who is now in the starting rotation because of bad OLine play.

The Canes have nothing to worry about from Tech this year. Canes D will penetrate with TFLs and turnovers just like Clemson’s D did last week.

We definitely need an OC, or Richt needs to open his NEW NEW playbook for Kosi. First fswho, then later on i will focus on GT.

You know that is all GT is going to run going into the game so you spend a week planning for it. That’s their only trick in their bag. Last nights game would be like GT coming out in the spread and throwing it all night.

I was screaming at the holds watching it the first time. They got away with quite a few.

Let us not forget we beat GT a year ago on a last minute field goal after converting a 4th and forever prayer catch by Langham. They ran rough shod on us in the first half.

Carter needs a lot of work. He isn't going to lay out every guy he hits and it looks like he expects it with how little he tries to wrap guys up. He looks fast and aggressive but I don't really trust him to make tackles at a high enough level to get major minutes at this point. Plenty of time to work on it though, pepper him in for game experience throughout the season and really drill his tackling this summer.
