First off holy crap we beat those boys down.

Second a few things caught my eye that I don't think would fly these days.

1) Fitzgerald's fumble causing hit on the Nebraska kick return probably would be targeting today.

2) Reed got away with a lot of horsecollar tackles on Crouch

3) was Shockeys motion out of the full back spot on the TD legal, or would that be an illegal motion?

4) does a receiver today get away with tossing defenders to the ground like rag dolls the way Dre did all game?

5) Winslow was an assassin on special teams

6) without a doubt that team is the greatest college football team of all time. No question.

1) Fitzgerald's fumble causing hit on the Nebraska kick return probably would be targeting today. Probably. The game was a lot different 20 years ago.

2) Reed got away with a lot of horsecollar tackles on Crouch Horsecollars were not yet illegal.

3) was Shockeys motion out of the full back spot on the TD legal, or would that be an illegal motion? He was not moving forward at the snap so the motion is legal. He was doing a sort of "happy feet" dance at the snap but since he was not on the line of scrimmage, he does not have to be set.

4) does a receiver today get away with tossing defenders to the ground like rag dolls the way Dre did all game? Probably, yes. It's why teams mostly favor bigger guys on the outside at corner. Little guys had no chance pressing a dude as strong as Johnson.

5) Winslow was an assassin on special teams

6) without a doubt that team is the greatest college football team of all time. No question.

I was there....... true story.

I was tailgating out there all day with friends and literally apologizing to Nebraska fans for what Miami was about to do to them.

Lots of generally nice people with a, "Well, we'll see in a few hours....." type responses—and when I saw the post-game in the lot they were just shell-shocked. It was lovely. Wound up hanging, re-grilling, drinking and celebrating for hours after—basking in the glow of the neon Rose Bowl signage, letting the place clear out before going back to the team hotel (where we stayed), drinking the bar dry post-game and getting picks with half the team. Epic night.

The only downer was literally the fact that a 34-0 halftime was a 37-14 finish. Coker did more than take his foot off the gas, he literally tried to run out the clock for two quarters to not embarrass them.

No reason that final score wasn't 55-7, if not worse.

I think Miami could had scored 70 in that game if they had wanted to.

Lol! let me rustle peeps talking **** about UM players during the greatest moment for the team this century.
Wasn't talking ****. Just interesting to see how the game has changed.

That team was THE GREATEST collection of talent ever.

Vilma's beautiful hits may also have been targeting
I don't think the motion was illegal. I think he went straight to the side until the ball was snapped
Wideouts are rarely called for that especially when the d-back out hands on the receiver first

Winslow was a lot of fun to watch on special teams. As was Sean Taylor

Way back to our first NC game in the OB against Huskers I hung with bunch of their fans. We lived in Bal Habour and they were at a hotel on the beach across the street. Extremely nice people. I was busily making bets with them -- they were absolutely certain they werer going to crush us. Night manager held all the cash until after the game. After the game I collected and hung with them, buying most rounds out of my winnings. Back then NE was use to being one of the dominant teams and almost every one said it was the most exciting game ever. They were stunned but clear eyed that it was not a fluke. They made no excuses. So nice I couldn't get myself to gloat.

Everyone was doing that **** back then.

It doesn't diminish what we accomplished just because *some* rules are different now.

I've been rewatching a ton of games from the early-mid 90's...those teams had some bad hombres on them

Vilma's hits were text book while brutal as ****!! No way after replay they would have been targeting.

Coker was willing to run up the score on Syracuse and Washington though. I wonder why he wasn't willing to run up the score on Nebraska.

A win like 55-7 would have been a lasting memory for CFB fans. I don't think much of anybody except for Miami fans knows about the Syracuse and Washington games at this point.

I was at both of those games and the rosebowl as many here were. I don't think we ran up scores. We scored alot on d that year and had a crazy depth at rb as well. Both of those games were like mahi frenzies. They just got out of control and the d set everything up. Just think we almost lost at VTech in our last game. The dropped 2 pt conversion was the most underated play of the season.
