Review of TVD

Brinson was open in the middle the entire first half. He is the tallest WR and yet TVD could not find him. Could have been a different game if he was seeing the entire field correctly. It’s hard to blame Gattis completely when guys are running open and the ball doesn’t go their way.

Garcia, while making some good throws, missed several reads as well. The most glaring being the 4th and goal play. If he shows a bit of patience there and waits for the FS to play his hand, he has Arroyo as open as anyone ever will be. Really a great play by Gattis, but completely botched by Garcia.

TVD needs to start with a short leash. If he misses easy reads or throws again, it’s Jake time for better or for worse.

Surprised no one has mentioned it, but 70 is a total liability and has been all season. Do we really not have better options there? He gets blown off the ball easily and it has ruined many plays before they even start.

It’s been mentioned plenty about how Justice sucks. Thad is a horrible blocker as well. I see why he doesn’t get much time on the field prior to injuries.

I've mentioned Olawusen being terrible before. I personally suggested putting him on a plane back to UNLV. Zion being out inserted him into the lineup. Even if Zion isn't available for UNC Olawusen needs to never play a down here again. And two things can be true regarding the offense: Gattis can be a poor fit at UM based on our personnel & equal blame can be placed on the qb's as both TVD/Jake have missed easy throws to wide open receivers.

You should probably go back and watch that Garcia play.

He didn't have anymore time as he had a DE and LB'er half a second from pummeling his ***.

While it was a good call, it also was a breakdown defensively by them. The LB'er didn't cover Mallory, Arroyo was the initial assignment and their player broke off coverage and stopped Mallory who was the wide open player on that play.

Sorry, you got it wrong on that one.

Marciante shows what I've been saying: TVD is NOT a "one read" QB. Get that isht out of here.

Roman explains it nicely and in simpler terms than i probably would have. Should put another point of nonsense to bed.

Lol.

The play in this review where Garcia connects with key on what should've been the TD, he points out that he missed a guy open in the middle of the field. He didn't point out that they ran the same exact play earlier in the game with TVD and the same option was open in the middle of the field but TVD also went for the receiver on the go route--only difference is TVD missed the receiver and didn't put it in a place where the kid could make a play on the ball.

I think both of our QBs haven't done a great job reading through their progressions, but to Roman's point, we don't know what Gattis has told them about who to look for first and priority stuff like that.

IDK if you listen to the OBB podcasts. The one they did today is worth a listen…. Ro talks more about specific offensive plays. They all get pretty blunt about how they feel about the offensive scheme

Roman was wrong, that play worked as designed. Smith ran a double move and beat His man on the 2nd move, so Garcia would've been an idiot not to throw it to Smith.
