Harley 38 catches 485 yards 3 tds
Wiggins 20 catches 335 yards 4 tds
Mark pope 18 catches 266 yards 2 tds
Payton 1 catch 23 yards

I know some People like to scrutinize mark pope all the time but imagine if he played the same amount of reps as even just wiggins last year or 329 more reps which is how many Harley had over him in 2019. He would have easily eclipsed those stats statistically with that increased amount of Chances to make plays. Pope is one of my picks of breakout players this season

Soggy noodles has underperformed everywhere hes had pads on. Hoping this scheme changes things.

I, too, am of belief that this will be a breakout season for Pope. Pope being able to operate in space, like he will be able to do in Lashlees scheme, is something that I really looking forward to this season.

It also looks like he is putting in the extra work this off-season, which is a sign of maturity and a direct reflection of Pope witnessing the work ethic of Osborn, as those two developed a close bond.

“Extremely Proven” wrs are lacking, however it’s not going to matter given how easy it is to operate in this system, smu receiver proche was the most targeted and productive receiver in the country the last 2 seasons , whoever we have playing will have plenty of opportunities

More to that, he received a crazy lion share of the target. 140 targets? Next wr had 60?

Point being, Lashlee isn't scared to feed someone 15 targets a game. When did we last do that? With Andre Johnson? lol

The issue on your stance tho is why Pope didn’t play as much. He didn’t take the playbook serious and didn’t know what to do on the field. Everyone knows he’s a tremendous talent but he has to put in the work.

That’s how a lot of top offenses work. Look at how Oklahoma fed ceedee lamb and Hollywood brown and not much of anyone else behind them or bama with their top 3 receivers

I agree. Of course there are several factors that are in play here. How many actual weapons does the team have? Is the scheme geared towards using RB's heavily in the passing game? How creative is the play caller?...etc.

I think the talent/skill gap between the #1WR and the #2WR (Insert Tight End, if applicable) is the major factor. If a team does not have a plethora of weapons, being dependent on your top and/or only real option, is more likely.

The good news, in our case, is the fact that Lashlee has shown that he can adjust to his personnel. With Jordan being on the squad, I can't foresee any WR getting the lions share of targets. I think it will be a WR/TE commitee approach, especially considering how important Lashlee views the TE to be in his scheme.

Either way, this is the most excited that I've been about our offense in a long (way f'ucking too long) time.

I feel ok about linebackers just because of the numbers we have. Quite a bit of competition. And we usually only play two of backers at a time. I’d like to see Sam Brooks and Avery Huff steak those spots with their crazy athleticism.

You can’t have high expectations for a kid if he has poor coaching and a bad offense of scheme that Doesn’t fit his style of play and he’s not getting enough reps on the field. If he was getting the reps then you can say he’s not living up to what we expected from, but in this case I can’t say nothing negative about him . Hopefully he will have the break out year we all expect from him and all the negative talk will go away because to me this kid is outstanding. He just needs to be on the field more and get more touches.
