Reports Likens and Justice go to SMU as well

Likens is a good coach. He got a lot out of Harley and Rambo. He also brought in X, Key Smiff, George, B Smith and Mello. Thats 5 guys that look like really good players early plus a 700 yard and an 1,100 yard receiver in back to back years. My only complaint is sticking with 6 and 8 too long. Other than that he was very good. I would say that the WR room is one of our best. Not sure what the expectations are to say he wasn’t a good coach?

I don’t have any illusions about this teams talent level. But they will return a guy who looks like first rounder at the most important position in football and the coastal is in disorder. They will get smoked by most top ten teams but won’t see one until the ACC title game assuming Clemson sorts their QB position. Anyone with a pulse walks in here and puts up ten wins plus next year, assuming TVD doesn’t exit stage right.

Are you talking about Miami? Because we play @TAMU in September and @Clemson in the regular season next year.

He’s a decent coach but nothing he did was worth fighting to keep him IMO. I don’t think Likens had to be a great recruiter to get those guys in here. Most of them would have been Canes, especially after last season when it looked like the team was actually poised for a 10 win season.

Nah. Had back to back 1st round picks at ASU before coming to Miami. Signing K Smith was a helluva evaluation (from CA and was committed to Wazzu)… got Mello to re-commit and kept B Smith from SEC. He’s gotten a lot out of Rambo and has reduced (not eliminated) drops since coming from OU. I think he’s better than decent. Too bad it don’t matter. He gone

I think Mello would’ve recommitted as long as our WR coach wasn’t from an option school. And Smith only decommitted bc Leach left. He was a good Evan and get, but he was all Wazzou until Leach left. Rambo still had ALOT of drops. And im not saying he’s a bad coach, I’m saying he’s not worth fighting and over paying for.

Likens should stay.
But 3 dudes leaving without a new head coach named publicly likely means they’ve already been told that the whole operation is getting scrapped.
And if that’s the case then the head coach and ad search is likely already done imo. It’s just not public cause who ever it is still has a job.

In a functional world, yes. We need to move thoughtfully but fast to salvage this class and more importantly make sure we don’t get portaled to death.

Trashlee or lashlee I don't care complete rebuild of staff finally lashlee used to look like a deer in headlights lol..
 
This thread is hilarious. You guys flipping your sh*t over Lashlee leaving realize the only way he'd be here next year is if Diaz was retained and you are the SAME ONES who said if that happens you're "done with this program."
