This is from a poster who's been in the know on 247. TIFWIW and bump if this actually becomes true.

The bag is at there the other schools bags are much bigger than ours. I told y’all the DB’s wasn’t coming. Now check this **** out PS2 pops is going to be Bama’s Assistant DB coach Paying him well over 500,000. American Heritage needs a new head coach because Pat Surtain Sr is gone. UM can’t compete with these BIG BOYS. Like I said two weeks ago Tyson and his people got paid from UGA. But a lot of you was holding on to hope. I got my boots on the ground and know this things while they happening. Same with Jobe family and him got taken care of. Think about it you don’t just walk away from a school that you been committed to for over two years unless Saban is going to take care of you. And in Tyson case we been showing him love since his 10th grade year. He loved us to till Georgia came with that bag 💼.Now when y’all see PS2 dad on the Alabama coaching staff remember you heard it here first. From Mike2345 always with the ✌🏾 sign. The only way we can compete is to up the ante. ✌🏾

lmao this bullsh*T. Surtain out there chasin a bag huh.....he out here broke huh.... Two years ago he sold oneof his house for 4+ million dollars..and bought another in Plantation.

If true, then it ain't worth our time to recruit kids like this, and the failure isn't missing on Surtain. It's in not chasing Asante Samuel from the start.

Honestly, he'd probably value that actual job opportunity more than the paycheck.

Might not have been about the money. Might have just bern about taken that next step up the coaching ladder.

He would have to be one of the 10 coaches or it can’t happen. If that’s the case, that’s a big move by saban for one recruit.

I love this theory that wealthy people ain’t chasing bags because they have money. I have no clue if applies to the Surtains but to dismiss it simply because they have money is moronic.

Right. Lol. Like wealthy people suddenly stop trying to make money or get perks.

Saban is the defacto DB coach. Plus it gets him in the door to Heritage. Plus Surtain is well known and liked down here.

I don't think it's about the money tho. I think it's about the growth and wanting to continue to coach his son. It's been widely reported how close Surtain Jr is with his family and this would make sense because his family would essentially move to tuscaloosa with him hence why he took his entire family on his Bama OV. I think the Surtains are very smart and they understood they had a lot of leverage in this recruitment. This would also make sense to why Campbell claimed the top two choices were Bama and Uga because Bama would have had his most recent coach.

Have y'all thought about how Bama could lose there Defensive coordinator and there DB coach who had the in with Surtain Jr and TC and still land one of em? Had to be more to the table that made them so comfortable to continue to consider Bama so highly.

Again, idk if this is true but it did make me raise an eye brow. I'm just saying if it turns out to be true....You gotta give the 247 poster his credit.

My father in law is a millionaire, you’d be crazy to think he would turn down 500 K. He would work hard for that money.

The thing about money is if you stop making it at 35 years old it tends to run out, especially if you have a bunch of kids and a big nut. If he got a coaching gig for half a mill I doubt he’d turn it down.
