Don’t see anything linking him to IU so not worried about it. Really could be as simple as getting the fastest moving court case so he can practice with us. & Jai spoke about it publicly already.

A lotta guys are still stuck in limbo because of the 10th circuit appeals court siding with the NCAA:

I'd like Malik back as long as we know for sure that it's not going to be a distraction, nor would it cost us any victories or (hopefully) trophies/titles we may win with him on this team this season. I just see the craziness that's gone on with LSU on the football side, and I feel like the juice isn't going to ultimately be worth the squeeze. I could be worrying over nothing...but just seems like there's another shoe waiting to drop on all of these injunctions and court proceedings.

Major difference is that plethora of players who played in summer league are currently on ncaa rosters. Won’t be a major issue.
 
4. Malik Reneau, TBD

Reneau is expected to return to Miami if ultimately ruled eligible (he was granted a TRO earlier this month by an Indiana judge), and that would provide a massive boost to Jai Lucas' frontcourt. The 6-9 forward spent his first three seasons at Indiana but transferred to the Hurricanes last season and produced a career-best campaign: 18.9 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists, earning first-team All-ACC honors. Lucas reloaded his roster in the offseason, adding transfers Acaden Lewis and Somto Cyril to a team that is already bringing back two starters. Have zero idea if that means that he's good to go but can absolutely see a world where he trains independently and he gets cleared right before the season starts.
