Also, not necessarily UM-related, but Marshall's OL coach Alex Mirabal is headed to Oregon.
Mirabal was an assistant for Cristobal at FIU and before that a long-time assistant coach
at Columbus HS.

Big Al interviewed for the UM job last in 2015 and was the runner up for the job. Alex is going to do very well.

Fields did a great job last year at Louisville. They landed a bunch of South Florida studs.

Dude did a lot to take care of South Florida kids, even those who did not play for him. Took several calls from him asking for legal assistance for kids facing some bs issues who were heading to Marshall and other places. Steve is a good dude and great father. He’s got great connects in Palm Beach County. Wish him the best.
 
Played at a HS then later coached HS in PBC (names of schools slipping my mind)
He was the RB Coach/Recruiting Coordinator at Hampton U and helped Lamar Thomas get hired by the HC when he was there
MNW head Coach (would have done much better there in some better circumstances - he should have been treated better than he was)
Then to North Marion where they played for a state title
He interviewed with Richt and he hired somebody else while he already had the FAMU offer on the table
Short time with FAMU
Then off to Louisville for 1 year
Now at Oregon - will do a great job there.

That won't be the end of the road for him either. Somebody will get smart and hire him as a position coach because he is a good coach.

Yes indeed, cared a **** of a lot more for the youngsters than most HC's do. Would do anything he could for them.

Steve played TE at Palm Beach Lakes.
