Rehab sucks!

Merry Christmas, you ********.

My family gifted me a headlamp to ensure I wont hyperextend my ankle again when I am on a run.

I love them. And I love y'all.

Wrong!!! If those PT don’t push his leg to the point where he thinks it’s unnecessary he will walk with a limp the rest of his life.Pain will start to subside and the rehab will get easier but take it from someone that has been through it 3 time.Do the rehab and do it right. It’s one of the roughest rehabs out there but is necessary.
For real... I'll take the word of trained professionals over CIS board monkeys any day... LOL!!!!

You didn’t hurt for the first week or so because they probably put a block on you ( a little rubber ball ) and when that runs out ( usually takes about 4-5 days after surgery) the pain you thought wasn’t there shows up in spades.

And they have to push your leg beyond what you think is normal because they have to get your leg completely straightened out ( which they will do usually by putting a weight on your knee for 5-10 minutes a session) and they have to get your knee past 90degrees which is why they bend it to the point where you think it will snap.

This is all normal.I warned you this was going to be rough for the first 4-5 weeks but it will get easier but if they don’t do all this ,what you think is torture, you will end up walking with a limp because you can’t straighten out your leg.

Take your pain meds about 15-20 minutes before your session and it will help a lot.You think this is torture but I’ve been through it 3 times and I can assure you if you don’t do the rehab correctly you’ll regret it going forward.

Good luck and hope this helps.
This ^^^^

People who don't follow the PT's advice and schedule are the ones who complain that the surgery didn't help.

I’ve had 3 shoulder surgeries, and you’re right… PT sucks and physical therapists are sadistic twats. Here’s the thing tho… the only thing worse than PT is not getting PT.

PT was delayed after my first surgery because workers comp is designed to **** you. By the time I got to Pt my shoulder had started to freeze. I haven’t experienced pain quite like those early sessions. I wouldn’t have been able to move my arm more than 30 degrees or so had I skipped it altogether.

The PT after the other 2 surgeries was bad, but wasn’t close to the **** of that first round. Morale of the story.. suck it and get your therapy, or you’ll end up hobbled and limping around like Quasimodo.
