Hearing he's been having our NFL alums rally around him in an attempt to secure his spot on Richt's staff.

Dude is consistent. He's played this same get out of jail free card with our last 3 coaching staffs.

Let's hope Richt isn't buying.

REALISTIC best case scenario would be he stays with the same title but only works on speed and we bring someone else in to do strength training/conditioning.

Pathetic......he does this every time.

Uses friendship and politics to stay in a job he should have been fired from a decade ago. Guy makes me sick. And any friend of his who vouches for him is doing so at the cost of our players. #FireSwasey now.

THIS! I dont understand why some of these coaches feel entitled to stay at UM when they havent gotten the job done! Instead of rallying nfl alumni how about you do your dam job! If you need to make calls and have a bunch of guys vouch for you that should tell you all you need to know.

He's playing the same card that's worked in the past. Hope Richt doesn't fall for it. Time for a change in S&C. Those former players are still going to come back no matter who is running our S&C program.
 
He is a guy that NFL guys come and work out with. I don't think they would work out with him if they see him as incompetent. I think we could use more help but I don't think we had a HC to help steward kids in the right direction

Lmfao if you really believe that Swasey is the reason NFL alum come back to Miami to workout.
 
Yesterday's performance is a good excuse to fire the whole staff.

I hope Richt uses it.
 
It's not only our former players rallying around him. He's also had every one of our scholarship sports team's coaches stopping by to put in a good word for him to CMR.

Should be interesting to see if CMR lets him go despite all of the lobbying.
 
I've watched the coach Swasey debate from the sidelines for the past decade plus. Ive never weighed in because both sides' arguments always made sense and I had no idea who was correct.

That said, whether coach Swasey is a gold S&C coach or not, sometimes you just need to turn the soil completely over before replanting next year's harvest. Im in the camp that says its time for a change at S&C. Dude has been here for 14 years now. Coach Swasey himself should want a change in order to take the next steps in his career.
