The problem is leverage. This university is very poor at negotiation and calling people’s bluff. Al Golden’s agent hustled us into a contract extension because of the “unknown” impact of the Shapiro sanctions and his threats of leaving to Child Rape University.
Then we get hustled again by Mark Richts agent. Richts agent exploited Blake’s desperation. Most people wanted richt and his agent knew that. Blake knew if he didn’t land richt he would get killed by fans and the media. Thus he caved on all of Richts demands. Son as qb coach? No problem. I’m calling plays and will not be involved in any way in the defense? Sure coach just please sign the contract.
This is where I think the strongest argument as to why Blake James needs to be fired. He gets hustled by Richts agent again with the contract extension. Why extend richt? Because of the ipf, paradise camp (buzz around the program) and our miraculous 10-0 record in 2017? I would have laughed at the agent.

Remember when Charlie weis had that one good year and N. Lames gave him a 10 year extension and everyone laughed at them? This extension was almost as bad.
