Referees cheated us

I don’t like to moan about the referees because I think it usually evens out but last night was one-sided. There was also a pretty clear holding/PI on Toney that happened right in front of me where DB grabbed back of his jersey. We also held on that play but instead of offsetting penalties, we went back 10.

The announcers on TV justified by saying it's hard to see because the white gloves matched the white pants 😂😂

Mario just said the reason for the timeout at end of 1st half was a ND player was laying on one of our guys, wouldnt let him up and when they realized no flag was coming they called timeout

I was screaming for Bain to lay on the pile after the last sack to ensure they didn't get a play off

1) Not an awful call but you could have called that on ND all night
2) The replay guys did a poor job showing it but Poyser grabbed him coming out of the break. The aggravating part was 3 similar plays not getting called on ND
3) I only remember the 1 on the goal line stand and it was ridiculous. Haven't seen that called since a high school game in 1993.
4) That was bizarre. You see holding and you throw the flag or you don't. I don't understand overruling with "I don't think it was holding Bob."
5) I'm not sure what you're referring to. But I thought for sure there were gonna give them 1 second there at the end for a miracle lateral play attempt but surprisingly they didn't.

Look, vs ND you *always* have to figure in referee shenanigans. It's just how it is. I'm not even sure they do consciously. We overcame it. And it honestly could have been worse.
on number 2 I buy the holding, but the ref called PI, not holding

I’m ok for the most part with NDs DB play. They held and interfered constantly but as long as the game were being called equally either way it’s fine. However, it’s undeniable that they allowed ND to get away with far more.

Anyone notice on the first intentional grounding call on Carr, that it was like 2nd and 3.
Then the refs finally call IG, ref says loss off of down, still 2nd down and that’s what they used?

Should have been 3rd and forever. Though didn’t matter as they got the 1st down, but the refs gave them an extra down.

Did this really happen? Because I swear I saw the same thing.

4 timeouts in the 2nd half

Where was the 4th? Are you talking about the 2-minute timeout?

One of the post play personal fouls was because dudes helmet came off and he continued to play. That's always a 15 yard penalty. Only penalty they got right the whole game.

It's not "always" a 15 yard penalty. In fact, it is almost never called.

What in the **** is a guy supposed to do when surrounded by 21 other players, run for the tunnel like the Oregon Duck?

I rewatched the condensed game.
What happened was ABC showed 2nd and 10 as soon as he threw the pass, thinking it was an incomplete pass.
Then after the refs conferred, they called it IG, so it stayed at 2nd down but 2 and 17.

So the refs got it correct, it was just confusing because they were showing 2 and 10 before the call was made.

That body slam of Marty Brown 3 yards out of bounds was bullshyt though, as well as the facemasks and ND hooks on UM WR’s all game.

Can there be 2 offensive penalties enforced on one play? If so, shouldn't ND have lost another 5 yards on the final drive intentional grounding for illegal touching? Carr hit an OL with the ball first.

Grounding would negate that as it ends the play like a sack. Pass never happened.

Also there was one maybe a TE screen that happened right Infront of the center for ND and they had a convoy of blockers that should have been illegal man down field

He chased after the play and dove on the pile for the most part. You know those refs are gonna call that. They were terrible but that was the only call that was pretty obvious all night.

Refs were terrible until fourth quarter. Legit criminal on how much they allowed those DBs for ND literally GRIP UM WRs and never making a single call.
And it literally took the crowd and our sideline getting so ****ed and frothed at the mouth they we finally got a first penalty against them for a blatantly obvious grounding call.

Strange and maddening enough…I’m not sure I saw Mario engage these criminal officials until that point.

Wait. So ND was given an extra timeout?
Seen people mentioning Mario thought they charged them with an injury timeout earlier in the 4th.

New rule to combat the faking injuries. Lose a timeout or a 5 yard penalty if you’re out of timeouts if a player goes down after the ball is spotted.

I can’t recall when it happened but I’ve seen it mentioned several times

Had several coworkers saying we looked **** good against the golden domers, and 1 even mentioned the officiating, he said he told whoever he was watching the game with the “the refs were keeping Notre Dame in the game” I said, glad someone not being a Miami fan saw that.

TBH, I knew the flag was coming before it did because he ran and jumped on the pile after his helmet came off. Buuuuutttt, the play should have been blown dead before he even had a chance to chase the pile.

Im like you though, he was in the middle of the action when the helmet came off. If he stopped and a ND player cleans him up, I bet no flag is thrown.
